It involves a lot more then just seeing. If you have played MMOs for a long time, you would know that bots are taken seriously and that they have certain protocols in dealing with them.

In some MMOs, they prefer to figure out what bot program is being used and what part of the system was vulnerable to it. You can block out the program and patch up the hole so future programs can not abuse the same problem. They are aiming at the root of the problem.

You can ban all the bots you want but they will just return. You block out the bot program and fortify the part of the system that was vulnerable to hacking and you deal a much bigger blow.

Players need to understand, the war against bots, is an endless war. Once you block out a program, a new one is simply developed. It repeats, over and over.
