Just give the mounts we have companion abilities. Keep the chocobos special by letting them be any role, but make other mounts specific roles in companion mode. Unicorn is a healer, Magitech is DPS, exc.

Seasonal and Event Mounts:

This is something that I feel could add more color to events, mounts that you can unlock through them. For example, it is currently the year of the horse so you can unlock the oft rumored but rarely seen horse, or perhaps an alicorn from FF xi. And next year you can unlock a sheep mount (or a ram), and the year after that you can unlock a Roc, and so on. On Easter events you can unlock a giant and colorful rabbit mount, on valentine's you unlock... a giant floating heart maybe? And on Christmas you can unlock a reindeer mount. With a shiny red nose. Complete with obligatory J.J Abrams style lens flare.

Class Mounts:

Currently there is just one class that has it's own mount (conjurer), I suggest that each class has their own unique mounts. For example, lancers could have a drake mount, Miners could have a coblyn mount, and Fishers could have an oroboron mount.

Also since we have nightmare, what about an undead horse? Or a heavy armored unicorn?
Also agree with more colored chocobos but I hope this is planned for chocobo breeding and that each color acts different in battle.
