Or Pug could get a job based on Dex, or a tanking role based on Vit.Doesn't matter if it's intentional. It's dumb.
When pugilist gets another job that relies on STR, or when thaumaturge gets another job that relies on INT, they are going to have multiple NON-GIMPED jobs at their disposal, with just that one class leveled.
It will just be sch/smn (and other classes that have jobs with differing roles) who are screwed over, because the design is messed up.
All these arguments that say sch/smn deserve to be gimped because of them sharing a class will mean nothing then.
I personally think it's good if they want to split the sch and smn attribute because if you allocate half-half to INT and MIND you will be Half badass smn and half badass sch.. temporary you might need to lvl up your whm to 50 to play as healer class.
I just spent a good 10 minutes curing 460 vs 490 Mind, the difference was 100, not 15.You know how much difference 30 MND makes? About +15 on your heals. Thats it! That 30 in MND or INT only makes a difference if you min/max. As the difference is minimal at best. Is healing for 1000 or 1015 really going to make much difference?
So dont overestimate the importance of 30 points to call a job "gimped".
I believe she was talking about before determination kicks in. Determ affects your Min/Max Damage/Healing Output Value noticeably. But its a terrible stat to raise if your base [mind] is low. z_z
What is "intended by the developers" often times gets changed. It was "intended by developers" that SMN's can instant rez in PVP, guess what, it got changed. Nothing is set in stone, so the whole "it was intended" argument is moot.
I switched to 15/15 recently because SMN is pretty fun but I don't want to give up scholar. I lost about 20-25 HP per Adloq and 30-40 HP per Physick.
Honestly I'm not even really noticing the difference in actual content, including EX primals and Coil.
Will I be happy if they change it around so I can put all my points in each job's primary attribute? Sure. Do I really care that I can't now? Nope, not really.
If anything we shouldn't even be able to spec any attribute points until we unlock the job crystal so then attributes are linked to job crystal itself and further cement the use of jobs in endgame content.
Ok here's the deal. All they have to do is make SMN dependent on MND for one reason. That way no matter what you do, you will always have one dps class, and one healer class available to you. BLM/SCH = INT SMN/WHM = MND
That way there is no need to scream bloody murder about spending 10k GC seals every time you want to switch between heals and dps.
