Ironically enough your double posts are just as insightful!
This was a response from a thread that was translated the day of, just check the JP Translations thread which is usually updated before we get an official translation. Not that I don't want official translations, I'm just saying.

Sounds like he gets how we feel and is doing what he can with what he has as quickly as possible.
Thanks for the post, Bayohne. As one of the (apparently few) people concerned about the party-size limitations, I think that's wonderful news. Can't really ask for more than to have them monitoring the situation.![]()

You people really need to get over the impending shutdown of this game thing.. SE has sunk way to much money into this game to let it die, and they certainly wont kill it before they attempt to fix it.. ridiculous.
Money spent in the past does not always justify spending more money. Especially when you have stockholders to account to. There is a phrase called "cutting your losses", which, while painful, may apply in this situation.
Put another way; for every dollar and man hour now spent developing and "fixing" this game, the game has to become a bigger and bigger hit to recoup the investment. So, as they keep spending money, their investment in the game grows; and the game has to be that much more successful (more subscribers and game longevity) in order for them to make that money back.
At some point you have to say; this is enough, we've put so much money into the game that it does not look forseeable that we will ever make our original investment back. Or, this is enough, we've put so much money into this game that it does not look forseeable that we will ever make an acceptable profit with this game. Both of those are highly subjective statements of course, but the person who will ultimately be making the decision is Wada, a businessman. Money is probably the number 1 deciding factor to him.
Just my 2 cents (coming from someone who is not currently playing the game, thus I hopefully have some distance).

Would you calm the behjeezus down? Nothing has suggested that the game indeed will shut down, but unfortunately for you, there is undeniable evidence that even the producer entertains it as a possibility... Which to any rational person leads to concern.
In addition, Jibe's post above mine is a fair and true approach as well. The reality just isn't always pretty.

FFXIV will continue to be worked on and updated until PS3 hits. From there if it gets good reception and does well in the JP/International Market then the game will stay alive. If it dive bombs again then they will shut it off. SE has blatantly said as much "PS3 is our last hope".
These forums are nothing but Premature Speculation 24/7.
