Dear Non-Cats, imagine forcing your ears onto your neck when you wear a hat.

Yes, having my ears forced a whole space down seems painful. Painful and silly. Certainly worthy of more attention than the flat-butt thread. Please fix post haste. Why even have the ear space on such gear? My ears clearly aren't occupying that space, rather they're being crushed under what is supposedly a crimson circlet (looks more like a hat to me).

While we're on the subject of ears; I dislike having almost all headgear acting as ear mufflers, too. I get it, Miqo'te have super hearing and you have to bring us down somehow, but please stop, you're embarrassing yourself Yoshida. All headgear for Miqo'te should be like this;

Miqo'te were the best race to show off earrings, until most headgear had to be trash...

I have pet cat irl so this topic made me cringe a little. >< Cat ears are very sensitive. That is why they loved being scratched behind their ears but also why they absolutely HATE getting their ears crushed by anything. It's not just the squishing of the ears (or movement of it really) that's the problem but also that the ears are covered. My cat would scratch me before she'd let me cover her ears like that.

The DRG DL is one of the worst.. looks bad enough normally, but is even worse with cats (our ears are covered /w chainmail @_@) Other than that hadn't noticed the squish aspect much, but I've had head gear turned off for most part thanks to aforementioned piece of DL.

Can't say I have noticed the squish down before (My Miqo'te only wears Circlets or /display head off) however after seeing your picture I agree it would be nice to change

My cat would scratch me before she'd let me cover her ears like that.

Lets hope whoever does gear design in XIV (or the face of XIV, Yoshida) and I never cross paths, then.

Sadly, it was already this way before Yoshida came on board. My first deformed hat I saw with a Miqo'te was during 1.0 beta. It was this: http://xivdb.com/?item/493/Dated-Canvas-Hat-%28Pink%29 (found it at camp bloodshore in a treasure chest during a leve)

But I give you right. Even if Yoshida don't change the old models, the new models should have holes for the ears (and armored tails, please ^^)
With the coming vanity system I only use headgears where the ears are free (or don't deform the headgear)

Honestly looking at the pictures I think your angle is off, you also have to remember the hat might pull down on your ears a bit or "squish" them like wearing beanies IRL. As far as the angle, look at the lips there is clearly a discrepancy.
