I think after all of this trash is over and the PS3 version is finally released, SE should give us all a badass item (By all I mean the people who have stuck it out for 12 months wondering WTF is going on and when this trash is going to be treasure). Maybe have a temporary NPC with a weapon for each job of which only one can be chosen... Especially for the people who payed extra for the special edition version of this trash just to play early.

I would think that if the game didn't take so much hardware to run we might see more players. c'mon ps3 and w/e else we can get this on after its fixed.

Actually everybody I know is in 3+ "active" linkshells. So that means out of your 40 players 10-15 are probably in my active linkshells. I wish I had a Venn diagram for this. The remaining 25 or so are probably people I don't know, and that's probably half of the 2/3rds left that I don't know of the 100 or so that I think speak English. I play with about 22 people. What's strange is how decent the economy is with only a couple hundred players.

Out of my original linkshells about 1% of people are logged on. Out of the active linkshells about 5 are logged on, and out of the reformed active linkshells about half are still playing from when it reformed. And none of the reformed active linkshells ever got to 100 players. So based on estimates based on linkshell monitoring, I'd say we're down to about 15,000 players or less, or about 1.5% of the original players. It will keep declining over the next year because of no endgame content. I'd also say for every 10 people that quit 1 joins the game fresh. But then they also quit, lol.

People who do the same leve thing every day and say that the game has enough things to do to keep playing seriously creep me out. That just can not be healthy.

SE needs to realize that the staff of XIV haven't done any work in almost a year and people who can get stuff done ASAP need to be hired. There's no way this game will turn into profit at this pace.

Not if no one else sticks around to watch you cross the finish line.

On Lindblum the only city with ppl in it is Ul'dah, which really sucks cause I love LL and Gridy, they so purdy
But during the busier times of day ppl are shouting to do a certain set of leves cause they are the best, I would love for SE to spread out the great leves and other things to the other cities so that everyone can enjoy the rest of this game and not just ul'dah over and over til your eyes and ears bleed....
I want to love this game and right now I kinda just like it.

Yeah gotcha, but don't say that 25% of the ENTIRE playerbase is down. It leads to miscommunication =)
Hello, I'm the OP of the article posted on Allakhazam (the link on the first page). Actually the numbers are even a bit more misleading - something I tried to explain to Hugus on Allakhazam as well. Let me explain.

Numbers until October 2010 were collected with the /sea all command during a specific time each day (a "one-moment-snapshot"). Numbers after February, however, were accumulated over 24-h-intervals. So it's save to assume that 24-h-interval numbers in October were actually much higher than 2600.

The drop October->February thus was not 2600->2000, but (2600*x)->2000, with x being (24/average number of hours a player stayed logged in in October). If we assume x to be a very exagerated 6, for example, actual 24-h-interval player numbers would have been 10.400 in October. The drop 10.400->2600 is 75%, that's why I said that the additional drop 2600->2000 since February is "positive".

P.S.: The player numbers showed a almost identical drop across servers until October (second link on the Allakhazam page). What makes you think Cornelia, the original No.3, became a "special exception" since then?
