Question and concerns about the vanity sytem..

So because it breaks your immersion you want to ruin to everybody else? If people want to raid in biquinis that's their business not yours. Don't we have enough limitations with the dye system?

This really isn't an issue of "ruin for everyone else". It's pretty obvious that Square has gone out of its way in FFXIV to preserve the story integrity of the environment, which is why something like vanity slots dont exist in the first place. I can't tell you how many games i've played (ESPECIALLY japanese/korean) that have thrown any sort of believable series motif out the window in exchange for the massive income they get from Fanservice. It makes the dollhouse players happy, but it really ruins the respect of the game. I respect FFXIV for having the balls to tie stats to visual armor on an MMO in 2013-14.

I won't lie and say I like all the armor I had to wear through leveling, but there's something about my character always being battle-appropriate that really made me respect the game even more. If im in a lower dungeon and can afford the defense, i'll equip some seasonal gear or a default set for kicks.

But i'd also be lying if i said FFXIV wouldn't be losing anything with the inclusion of unchecked vanity slots. Don't act like it isn't a tradeoff for both parties, because it most certainly is. Yoshi himself has made that clear.

Because having a giant doll and some midget from ANOTHER GAME riding around Shroud due to "accidental inter-dimensional travel" is preserving the story integrity and environment?
Because having a female character from ANOTHER GAME appear in this world due to some arbitrary reasoning "Some God wants me to fight here" fits right in?

Please stop. I'm tired of you lore immersion nuts, immersion went down the toilet with 2.0, stop trying to pretend it exists

AND STOP TRYING TO LIMIT MY CREATIVE FREEDOM! IT'S A VANITY SYSTEM, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO WEAR WHATEVER I WANT!
