I don't know what you were expecting. This is clearly what "events" are going to be in this game.

Or more likely, It's 1 artist, 1 programmer and 1 writer (part time) that builds these events and that's really all they can manage. The once every month or two fluff is fun and I'm fine with the small scale of it if that means we get that much more effort put into larger, longer lasting stuff. (Like the next iteration of coil, CT, new primals, additional storyline etc.)
Short as it was, I had some laughs at the cut scenes and my avatar's reactions throughout. Wish there were connecting chain of quests tho.
I don't really like waiting on fates so much ^_^; but I'd still do them if it's required. I'm glad we get credited even at bronze just for participating. Don't want to wait another 30 mins sitting around for the next one.
The best part to me are the custom fate and quest graphics.
I enjoyed that for the XIII event and I'm glad to see them keep it up.
I can see what the Op means, but they were funny! And you get a new minion!
Okay, okay-- I'm really partial to minions. The scenes were still funny though xD.
this could be said about so much added to the game. New hairstyles, anyone truly expecting more than 2 at a time? New facepaint, anyone expecting more than 1? New crossover event, anyone expecting more than a fate string?
It's really sad when you have to state "I don't know what you were expecting". I really try to like this game, but the devs do the absolute bare minimum on everything. It's really disappointing. They even outlined their update patterns. I'm not sure I care for 2 hardmodes, 1 new dungeon, and updates to CT/Coil.
It's safe to say expecting anything above the bare minimum increases the chance you will be left disappointed.

Bare minimum? lol
No, bare minimum would have been a quest with no cutscenes or thought put into them.
Sorry you didn't like them but it was in no way disappointing. My wife kept staring at me and giggling while I did the rockman quest until I finished it lol
puff-puff!
My point is that they've pretty much set the precedent for these to be nothing more than accept the quest and do a FATE. At least you could choose from 6 different levels of FATE depending where you did it. That's already kind of a step up.
I actually kinda enjoyed them along with the lightening returns stuff. I hope that with shantotto and his transdimensianal travel from van' proves that there can be a tie in between ffxi and ffxiv.
Now all we need is for shantotto to make gates across eorzea by accident that links it to van' so we can explore both worlds! In ffxi we got to go to the past! In ffxiv maybe we get to go to van'!
The only thing i'm disappointed with is that we didn't get a full set of gear from some main characters of dragon quest, Instead we just got that silly ox helmet. Which is cool but i'd rather run around like the hero from DQIII or DQVIII.
