I personally feel that Eos is also the reason that I can weigh Crit so heavily. She can crit as well, and her heals certainly aren't bad.
you aren't accounting for the fact that SS now affects fairies and that if you're speccing for crit you'll have a good amount of SS naturally. a piece of gear doesn't exist in a vacuum; its stat values are, obviously, added to those from the rest of your equipment. i'm 2 pieces away (omni zenith->allagan; royal gloves->allagan) from what i strongly believe is full crit-spec BiS (ie what is pictured in the OP) and with that setup you end up with something like 300+ SS. you are correct that piety has its uses. you are also correct that 11 spell speed is meaningless *if that's the only SS you have.* but those leftover amounts add up to something beneficial; if not for you, then for your fairy, which as we know is slower post-2.1. there is also the "only" 3 additional DET, each point of which, unless something changed, affects fairy healing potency as much as a point of MND does for yourself. that's pretty big, and even if it weren't, it's no more useless than PIE.
i also have to completely disagree about royal shoes being better than the allagan. why, because they have crit? i don't think you realize how heavily mind is weighted. unless we're talking about a 1-2 point main stat difference vs. a vast amount of secondary stat(s), the piece with the higher MND will almost always win out. 13 crit is in no way comparable to 3 MND.

MND is not as heavy weighted as you think it is.i also have to completely disagree about royal shoes being better than the allagan. why, because they have crit? i don't think you realize how heavily mind is weighted. unless we're talking about a 1-2 point main stat difference vs. a vast amount of secondary stat(s), the piece with the higher MND will almost always win out. 13 crit is in no way comparable to 3 MND.
After some testing i realized that 1MND = 1.6Healpts. on Physick which is pretty much nothing. On Adloq even less. Of course, it's up to you which stat you prefer.
Anyway congrats on your book.
my point wasn't that a single point of MND drastically increases your output, it was that it does so more than does crit and det. i know exactly how heavily MND is weighted, which is to say less than weapon damage and more than crit/det.
thank you, btw, i'm psyched
Aaaaw you re close to the full bis.
PvP boots, pvp boots. You'll have nice things with the overmelding (hello det) and 21 crit + vit so yeah, no to allagan and of course, no to royalya I know for the morale ...
Other than that : Mind enhance scholar's heal better than det, but det enhance fairy heals even better. The full crit build is by no mean something that valuable if you don't have det
i just wanted to needlessly bump this thread and say that as of last night (when my book dropped) i have the exact same loadout. hooray for me
I've done some Mind-stat-testing myself, and my result is that 1 Point of Mind equals around 1.5 healpoints on Physick. Thus I'm considering of using the Int-Hero-Ring (my current ring is still the DL ring so i'd be losing 9mind and some piety). In other words, if my assumption is correct i'd lose 13.5 healpoints on physick and about 70 mana (or something like that), while gaining 13 (or was it 16?) crit.
On a side note: Congrats![]()
Your setup is exactly what i have on my BiS wish list for scholar. I'm so far away though. congrats!
Vit till you can survive the encounter > MND > CRIT > DET > SS > everything else
I basically use the above as baseline to value my gear. No Doubt SS is good but i would prefer Crit build over SS simply because i take my chances :P
