What they said
Statement: As being one that has multiple classes, absolutely it is, especially with CT and EX primal weapons, gearing alt classes gives one something to do when their 'main' is full i90.Aside from the fact that it is a bit worth it to have a multiple class due to cross-skills, aside from that, is there any reason to have a multiple class at all in this game?
PS:
I'm not QQ-ing, I just want to hear your opinion regarding this "somewhat" screwed Armoury system which is the main attraction of this game in the first place.
Being able to fill more than one role means finding a spot in groups is easier.

Very true plus it gives you something to do instead of starting another "I"m bored and there needs to be more content rawr" threadIf you're a tank and you level up a dps class then you get to see what it's like from the dps perspective. You learn what things tanks do that get on your nerves.
An example is if you level monk or dragoon and the tank keeps spinning the enemy around because they think moving around helps them avoid normal attacks. You run around, wishing the tank would stop moving so you can properly hit the enemy.
Experiencing the perspective from all points of view makes you a better player overall.
Also spinning does reduce the auto attack rate but I only recommend it if you're party agrees to it. Plus with all the recent tank buffs you really shouldn't need to anymore.
Absolutely. Some fights favor certain classes, some fights only need one tank or one healer (for example, you can 1 tank or 1 heal all of the EX primals). It's better to be able to switch to a job that is useful for the situation than have to sit out for somebody else.
This is a great answer. My exp is different because I played a whm, blm, sch, and smn all to 50. As you can tell normally I play magic classes. Out of random curiosity I tried PUG, got it to MNK and freaking loved it. However, I know what it is like to be the WHM in a party. I think for my level in mnk (36) having a rep of 26 is pretty good! I think that at times it is because of the fact I know whm. I see the tank lose aggro to healing for the whm in my roulette and I ran after the mob and grab aggro myself. Even though it is a bit harder as a mnk than a tank to get that aggro, I do it. This is mainly because playing as a whm I had to pay careful attention to all mobs and if I ever got heal aggro (which was rare) I knew that was time to run toward the tank with the mob in tow. Not all whm know that. But it really is true, you don't know someone else's job until you walk in their shoes.

I am on Durandal which is a JP server, and having multiple classes/jobs really allows me to have a much easier time finding groups. Durandal being a PUG heavy group I am able to pug different turns of Coil on different jobs. Last week I went to Coil 1 and 2 on DRG then 4 on BLM. Few weeks before that I also pugged turn 5 on PLD. In this case, having multiple jobs is definitely huge plus for me.
Especially when you consider that theres nothing stopping you asking for/rolling on loot for a different job. Had a T1 run on my Monk last week whereby neither Healer needed the drops, so they said to greed it if you had a class at 50, so we did. I didn't win it, but the point is that you can't do that if you run multiple characters for different Jobs.I am on Durandal which is a JP server, and having multiple classes/jobs really allows me to have a much easier time finding groups. I like the freedom to play whichever class i want and still farm the Tomes to get DL/Myth/CT gear for a totally different job.
On Durandal there are groups where you are allowed to declare one item as your "wish list" or a job as your "job" even though you are on a different job and roll accordingly, I imagine this is the same on other JP servers. This of course is a honor system and can be taken advantage of, but the chance of it happening is quite small on a JP server.Especially when you consider that theres nothing stopping you asking for/rolling on loot for a different job.
