People consider it cheap/exploitative.

it doesn't matter what "people" consider. A small group of players don't get to decide whether the strategy is legitimate or not. It only matters of the devs consider it an exploit, and as of now they do not, which means it is perfectly a legitimate strategy until they say otherwise. When the devs decide its no longer legitimate, I support their decision. But if they never do, I'll always consider it a viable strategy. Also, the idea that there is only one way to do things and that there should never be a reason to look for alternate strategies is STUPID. You may as well just watch a MOVIE if you want to remove that much player control from a GAME.
