While I definitely agree with pushing for progress is the way to go, I feel like cherry picking groups would have cheapened the experience for me. I did a lot of T5 pugging inbetween to learn other strategies and gain experience for myself to help the group, and in fact I actually cleared T5 in a semi-PUG on a Sunday night before clearing with either of my static groups... but it felt a lot better to clear it with my statics.

I think what's most important is to make sure that you and your static group are on the same page.

Yes: everyone wants to clear T5 and obtain the loot. But how much time and effort do you want to put into this? Can you withstand constructive criticism for the sake of improving as a player? etc. I think the most frustrating experience is to want to play and practice and clear an encounter... but your group just wants to call it a week after T4.
