What is it like to be unable to clear all of the content?

I'm going to preface this by saying this isn't intended to be a boast-post although I know I'm going to be accused of boasting anyways.

I'm a hardcore player who enjoys playing a lot, slamming my face against a raid encounter until we win, doing math behind finding optimal rotations for DPS classes, keeping track of mechanics, etc etc. I've played two jobs on separate characters in separate groups through all of the content in the game, including Turn 5 -- One of which groups I'm responsible for leading.

Not every player is like this. I can understand that.

The purpose of this post is just to gather feedback and improve understanding in general. People play games for different reasons, and while we all want to have fun this is different for every player.

This post mainly aims to draw upon the group of players that forego some content because they view it as being too difficult or unattainable, especially the vocal minority which complains about it being this way - but hopefully I can draw out some less vocal players as well and see their angle of things.

I like to think I'm not an elitist jerk, but please do call me out if I come off the wrong way. Part of the reason I'm asking these is because I help manage my FC, and while I get along well with the more hardcore players there's a bit of a disconnect between me and our more casual player base... it happens!

Some key points I'm interested in, but feel free to post more or less than I ask.

What content has gated you, and for how long?

Why are you stuck here?

Are you upset about this? (if so - why? and how can content be added for more hardcore players such as myself without upsetting you.)

Should any changes be made to the content to accomodate you and players like yourself?

What kind of content would you like to see added in future patches for you to enjoy?

Please include any other information you think might be relevant.

The only thing stopping me from moving forward is the time I invest into the many other aspects of my life. I'm not stuck. I'm just moving forward slowly. And that's hardly a bother at all.

Makes the most sense to me, and is how I feel personally. It's more interesting when there's new content to clear so I'm a little jealous.

Weekly caps are killing it for me, if I wanted my gameplay limited I'd be subbed to EVE again.

I guess I'm seeking to understand the type of player who says "this is too hard for me" and sets their own limitations? I can understand "I'm busy doing other things with my life" or "I'm working on it" -- There's a lot of debate on this forum that goes on about how "everyone should be able to clear the content" which directly contradicts challenge(beaten by time invested/player ability/etc) -- and I can definitely understand the "I want new, harder, shinier content" side of things, but I don't understand what kinds of content the other side of the fence would like introduced.

instead of upsetting, it's enjoyable, because we actually spent time together to form strategies and eventually tightening the relationship thus becoming friends

not really, everything is doable, jz whether you're determined or not

more strategy based content like t5 and extreme primals, not something like t2 enrage mode
