    Taking and introducing gil?

So I had some discussions with players I've been with when running roulette through the month about gaining gil.

There are still a good amount of players who would prefer to skip mobs for a speed run in a dungeon because they gain a large amount of gil by selling item to be bought by other players which is the method of taking from the economy.

There are also people who would rather fight the mobs for that easy gil thus introducing more gil into the economy rather than taking gil already in the economy by selling items.

So the question is are you someone who prefer Taking gil from the economy or Introducing gil into the economy.

(Selling items currently is removing gil from the economy because everytime you sell a item on the market board some of the gil is lost to a selling tax. Thus reducing the amount of gil in the economy. Only through normal trading will this selling tax not affect people.)

That is a removing method which serves to remove gil from the economy like the sell tax on market board.

I'm talking about methods you prefer using to gain Gil. Not methods that causes you to lose gil or remove gil from the economy.

Taking is one of the way to gain gil because you are taking gil from other players rather than adding gil into the economy itself.

Killing mobs earns a set amount of Gil.

Selling items varies it's profit based on the economy.

To answer your question, I sell items Mon-Thur and then kill mobs Fri-Sun. Generally speaking of course.

That's not the issue. Gil generated through kills, roulettes, dailies, quests, etc is all "new" money. Gil generated from market board is just trading hands between players (and some is lost due to taxes). The former is better, but slower. There's only so much gil to go around for the latter case.

There is no issue, it's a feedback loop.

If the market crashes, then clearly killing mobs becomes more profitable. Items are farmed less as more Gil enters the system which creates a situation where demand will begin to kick in.

If the market flourishes then it might be more profitable to sell items. The demand is slowly matched and profits will begin to diminish.

It's not a binary process where you must pick one or the other, they both work with each other to form a system. Granted, this system isn't as smooth flowing as I just described, but those who understand (and somewhat control) this system will easily make profits. The only way an issue could exist is if one or the other aspect of this is completely ignored, and this isn't going to happen. After all we are gamers, So if it's profitable we will use it! That's the beauty of it all.

If too many people are adding gil into the economy and not using enough of the gil then we will have a inflation.
