A Request From the PvPers

One issue currently with PvP is that it currently forces players to make a decision that no other piece of content does: Do I want to participate (in pvp) or do I want to be able to socialize and talk with my FC and LS mates.

Currently it is incredibly difficult to maintain any sort of conversation while PvPing. I understand that you cant talk in PvP arenas because of griefing issues, but it makes it incredibly difficult to help run FCs and LSs if you also enjoy PvP a lot.

Being able to talk in LS and FC at the very least, prematch, would go a long way in making PvP a more enjoyable, and less disjointed, part of the game.

Or you could focus and help your team properly? I hate it when people are too busy chatting away or reading FC/LS text.

It takes 5-10 seconds to help the team properly before a match starts.

I also agree that the restriction on chatting during PvP is a bit much. If you PvP a lot it makes it rather hard to stay social, and in worst cases some people think you are ignoring them. Saying that someone should be focusing instead is fair, but what about PvE? Would you be okay with removing chat during instances, too? Because obviously you need to focus and do nothing but talk to your team. Screw being social in a game based around social interaction! If you want to talk to your friends, you better be prepared to stand in town all day!

If you could chat in PvP, this would allow things like somebody watching a stream and coaching the opposing team on the other team's behavior, or friends on opposing teams communicating with eachother / rigging the match); e.g. greifing as you are aware. I don't see any way to allow chat whilst avoiding this.

Ehhhh, all of the things you mention as negative side effects are perfectly possible just by being in voice chat together...

These are all possible over any VOIP.
While the matches are short, when you factor in the fact it takes roughly 2,000 to hit rank 30 that is a lot of time isolated from your social groups who don't PvP. It isn't like this is a huge request.
