Job discrimination in DF?

Alright, tin foil hat time guys. Is anyone seeing job discrimination in DF queues? In particular, Summoner. I have both SMN and MNK leveled to 50 and yesterday, I decided to queue for Ultima HM as MNK. Was in queue as SMN, was sitting there forever, changed job to MNK, withdrew and queued. Almost instant pop on queue. I thought it was odd, I kept going. When queued as MNK I always got in faster than as SMN.

I made a comment in one of my LSes, someone else also tried as SMN, always waited much longer than other classes.

Anyone else seeing this and if so, what gives? Is SE doing this because extra raise capacity or what?

DF ques for me have gotten better since back in the day and even late night they are pretty good. I don't have a summoner to compare but .....

I've seen some theories about the DF trying to get a "balanced" party (different classes, 2melee 2 ranged, etc), and about giving priority to jobs with less people playing (if there are more SMNs than MNKs, MNKs will have faster time)

I don't recall any confirmation from SE about this.

No. That was possibly the worse anecdotal evidence you can come up with to support a thought.

DF does not take into account your job, only your role. Which is why even with the nerf to limit break/job stacking, you still get double jobs in a DF group.

Except there were three threads on the topic on the first page of /r/ffxiv on Reddit the past few days. I think there's more to this then meets the eye... you can't pull the RNG card on this one so easily... too many people saying the same thing.

I was under the impression that the DF prioritized having different jobs in a group and having a melee and a ranged DPS. Only if those conditions failed would the DF start tossing in similar roles/jobs together.

SE said before that the DF tries to create a balanced party (equal parts melee and ranged, class diversity, etc). It will only create an imbalanced party if there are no alternatives.

If the system is attempting to make a balanced party with no class overlap then this may be occurring because both scholar and summoner come form arcanist. Should that be the cause then it would hold true for scholars as well, having longer queue times then white mages. Quickly! to the testing! :P
