Just as a point of refrence: chain +3 is pretty processed as well. Even more so then plates.

    ore>nugget>ingot>wire>rings>chain
Wire resets the processing difficulty because you can make 12 HQ all at once from NQ ingots. Still painful though, and people choose to farm them rather than craft them which is a shame.

Also a testament to how much people prefer to grind on battle farming compared to grind crafting. No surprise there though, crafting is basement content.

It comes down to whats easier, and in the case of chain +3's, farming mobs is hands down easier. I define easier as faster that's just me, plus its not hours of the processing steps vs. hey i can go kill some undead.

The most mind numbing of crafting for me at least is processing parts. Since to get the batches i like to do, takes hours on end of grinding ingots/handles whatever really, and usually all for little to no sp. Any chance i can take to get out of Uldah and farm a part from a mob i take it!!

The solution for that would be upping the rate on hq parts, or giving us touch up for parts, cause right now part creation is right up there with a swift kick to the nuts.

Touch up on parts would be nice. But at the end of the day the easier you make it to craft HQ parts, the easier it becomes to make HQ finished items. Those +3s go from being rare to common and the +2s go from being common to trash.

I'm not sure how they can balance it right. I like the rarity of +3 end-game items. Maybe make touch up on parts less effective than touch up on finished items. That way you get a few more rolls at an HQ chance but it's not too easy.

yeah i totally see where you're coming from on this, and i like the idea of a "reduced effectiveness touch up". The HQ system for parts atm as far as i can tell is just a big RNG shit storm. I like the idea of finished items being rare, i just don't care for having to make 4hrs of parts just to get a hand full of workable materials. Sorta comes back to rewarding spamming vs actual real understanding and applying whatever mechanic SE intended to "work".
