Yoshi-P himself has stated hybrid jobs are coming. So we'll see this sort of thing eventually in one form or another. And I, for one, look forward to it.
Hybrids are usually along the lines of "journeymen of all, masters of none." Its totally fine if you have a class that's 70% as effective as a real tank and 75% as effective as a real dps, you just don't want 100% of both. : D
