Game constantly crashing after patch 2.1

Hey guys,

So I downloaded and patched the game last night, and right after the servers finally went up, the game just crashes right when I hit the play button. Eventually I restarted my pc and tried starting the game with admin rights, and was able to get to the main menu, from which the game would crash if I chose a data center that I had a character on, or if I tried to create another character on any other data center/server. I tried a bunch of stuff I found on the internet, but from what I can tell no one else is having this specific issue. Anyone have any advice?

I really don't wanna have to reinstall -.-;

Edit: Forgot to mention, to get it to the point where it didn't crash right when I clicked play, I also had to enable compatibility mode with windows XP (SP 3). Without this, I get a memory error.

I'm not sure if our problems are exactly the same, but i'm crashing as well. i can get into the game and (the first two times) play for a couple of minutes, but eventually it hard crashes. system restart level of crash. and its not other games, as i've tested that. the cpu isn't overheating either, as i was monitoring it.

i was able to play earlier when the servers went up, played for a couple hours, went to do something for a couple hours and came back, the game crashes constantly after pressing the START button on the main menu....

Wouldnt mind some help, reassurance im not the only 1 with this problem...

I have the same problem, never had that kind of crash before the patch, it was kind of scary, I feared it was my computer the problem, but it doesn't crash on other games...

My game is crashing too and I don't know how to fix it. I am on PC.

I'm getting this problem as well. The game window pops up after I press the green Play button but immediately crashes afterwards. I'm using Windows 7 and it says the program stopped responding. Help please?

I want to play and my screen started to freeze :/
i closed my PS 3 and want to start all over again
and now it comes on the screen '' character confiq data is corrupt , please exit the game and delete character confiq data "
what it means to start all over again or what i dont know ??

I have gone from never crashing before the patch, to crashing all the time. I can get in to the game and play, but at random intervals it will crash for no apparent reason.
The crash happens in 3 different ways:
1. Game just freezes, and it makes windows freeze along with it, requiring a reboot
2. BSOD
3. The game just crashes into windows, and i do not need to reboot.

I have the latest drivers installed for all my computer parts
I have tried rebooting the PC
I have checked the temperatures, and this is no overheating problem
I ran the RAM(16GB) test in Windows 8.1, and it found no issues
I tried lowering the graphics settings, even though i have been running on max without issue. It did not help.
I tried reinstalling the game. Still no luck.
I made a clean reinstall of the latest nvidia drivers available from the ASUS website, but that did not work either.

Windows 8.1 Enterprise
Asus Geforce 670
Gigabyte Sniper M5 motherboard
16GB RAM

UPDATE: I resolved my own issue. Even though memtest found nothing wrong with my RAM, i tried removing 2 of the 4x4GB modules, and it solved my issue

Same here. Game BSOD's and does a hard reset. Then after trying to log in just now I get an error 400, whatever the hell that is lol.

Also, can confirm that cutscenes are not affected. I was doing my level 50 BTN quests and the cutscenes have had no problems but in the open world the game will cause my entire computer to crash. Again this did not start happening until I downloaded the 2.1 patch this morning.
