I can fully understand people's frustration with Titan HM. There are a good few mechanics which can shut down a party's chances of beating him, skills which can instantly remove a party member from the remainder of the fight and his heart phase requires strong DPS. That's not to say I'd like to see him nerfed however.

As much as I do understand those frustrations, it's also a taste of what's to come later. In a way, Titan eases you into that tougher content with his fight mechanics. In fact, I'd argue the actual Titan fight eases you into his OWN mechanics... hear me out.

1) His first major skill he may use is landslide. During this time you are knocked back but CANNOT fall off the arena due to the edges.
2) After the edges fall away he begins using Weight of the Land, giving you some practice dodging his new ability.
3) He adds the new mechanic of dropping bombs (in different layouts) in the next phase, along with the gaols which need to be destroyed.

All this is done BEFORE the heart phase even arrives.

4) He begins to combine these skills, such as dropping bombs and using Landslide. The bombs drop in a different pattern, but still follow the same rules as the original ones.

In this regard, I think Titan is actually one of the smarter bosses they've added. He doesn't immediately smack you in the face with insta-death like some FFXI bosses did, and each phase gives you the chance to learn his moves. The more eagle-eyed players could probably beat him in one clean run assuming they had decent DPS. In my opinion, the strong DPS requirement is the only major hurdle faced by DF groups, and not so much learning his mechanics.
