It's not the director's fault for making an action-oriented fight on a netcode that can't handle such action for half of the players, making it very frustrating and difficult for the wrong reasons?
Half is hyperbole. I highly doubt 50% of the playerbase is running around on terrible internet.

And yes, they do have the luxury. When World of Warcraft made changes that a good portion of players didn't like, they found a different game that suited their needs. It's how an MMO market works. You want the game to hand hold you and give you items without giving your 100%, there are other games that fits your needs. Just as this game fits the needs of players seeking some challenge. A fight that punishes you for someone dying early in the fight just makes the fight more meaningful to the people who need to improve in order to win. The Dark Souls paradigm. You die, you improve, you win, and you feel good about yourself improving enough to win.

So, I'm comfortable with fights that require all 8 players to give their full participation. Perhaps I'm biased because I made sure I had a stable connection before purchasing the game.
