TBH, after doing Titan HM a few times, it's not really hard at all. The only thing that makes it "hard" is the steep punishment for making a mistake, and 8 chances of it happening (coupled with lag). The actually fight is a repetitive dodging run.

"xxx is too hard for me so xxx company should adjust the difficulty to my liking."

Welcome to the modern era of gamers. You give them an extremely casual oriented game and people still find ways to complain.

The fight is pretty stupid because of how unforgiving it is. I hate having to rely on everyone to play perfectly to beat it. But there are many players that don't even give a good effort into beating it and resort to just buying it right out.

The thing I hate about Titan fights is that it's group of people soloing. Unlike places like Crystal Tower where if the other group starts falling, I can just rush to them and start healing to help them back to their feet. If somebody dies in Titan, raising won't get them back up. They'll just die from the next set of tumults. :/

Difficult content gives a great feeling when you finally accomplish it.
I remember hitting my head against Titan HM for a week or so, before I finally downed it, others in my FC took a few weeks, but when they finally did it there was a big sense of accomplishment.
They didnt stop to come and complain on the forums, they just kept working hard at it and learnt the fight inside and out until they got it.

If you can't handle HM now, then I fear for you attempting EM.

This X1000 except for me it was Garuda... we actually downed Titan on our 2nd attempt. Its a difficult fight but esp as a tank, once you figure out whats happening, its just a dodge fest. Ive also done it as a healer, so i have seen how it is from that PoV as well.

The point is, its supposed to block you from accessing content. The game is pretty easy from an individual standpoint, and most fights are only hard when it comes to executing as a team. once you defeat the content that blocks you out from the other stuff, it is an awesome feeling. Especially if you do it with an FC and most of you need it for your first relic

If you can't beat Titan HM (an easy fight), you shouldn't complain about not being able to do harder content.

If your connection is bad and you can't beat easy content because of it, you shouldn't complain about not being able to hold back other players in harder content.

To be fair, the fight has a pretty steep learning curve compared to Ifrit and Garuda HM. Is it easy after you learn it? For the most part. I hit my head off the wall fighting Titan for about a week straight (literally logging on and queuing for it for a few hours every day) before I gave up on it. A month later I had help from a very nice group of people who were "selling" runs for free to combat the sales...I stayed alive almost till the end and it felt great...all the practice paid off. Honestly, the difficulty level is just where it should be. While I don't agree with FCs selling primal runs, they are smart in a way. If they want to do that, it's entirely up to them as it is good money and there are people willing to pay. You won't see me paying a FC for help on anything though, now or in the future, no matter how bad I may want a win.

The really sad part is, all the "challenge" in this game is completely artificial. One-Shots, tons and tons of AoE, ridiculously large healthpools, and unforgivable mechanics like Titan's landslide.

If SE wants to add real challenge to this game and make open world PvE less face roll, then they need to improve the AI. Improve the AI and you can dial back the ridiculous number of one-shots and AoE attacks. Take Guild Wars 1 for instance. Sure it had its fair share of artificial difficulty, but the AI was also more intelligent than FF14's. The enemy mobs in GW1 did not have (nearly) as predictable rotations as the AI in this game. Enemy and allied NPCs alike would generally use the correct skills for the correct situations. So the AI had its issues, like attack chains for assassin NPCs or avoiding AoE. Regardless, this, for me, created an excellent environment that was both challenging and rewarding without being downright frustrating.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy this game, or I wouldn't be here. I'm just of the opinion that better AI = better game experience.

TL;DR the first step to truly challenging content is creating more intelligent AI that thinks and acts according to the situation instead of performing the same, predictable attack pattern over, and over, and over.
