Adding Pie Charts to the Lodestone?

It would be interesting to see the statistics of the Player Character populations, it would also be nice if it had several options such as Grand Company/Race/Main Class/Server option/filter features (so if someone, for example, wants to play the least played GC/Race/Class combo on Sargatanas, they can find out what that is without having to go through the character search for hours, or if they want to play on the least populated server, they can find out which server that is).

Maybe even having a filter of "Only count characters that have been logged into the past month" or something.

Yeah, it's a minor feature, but it would be nice to have.

Square Enix actually does this once a year with FFXI - it's called 'The Vana'diel Census', where they compile statistical information about player logins, amount of Jobs/levels, player races and genders, in-game nationalities etc.

I'm not sure if FFXIV 1.0 ever had anything similar released, but the FFXI version was always very interesting and quite surprising at times with some of the results shown (it compiles raw server/character data and is not a survey style census), and I really hope SE brings an equivalent 'Eorzean Census' for ARR as a result.

There was a mini-census right after 2.0 launch: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000506.html. Hopefully they will continue this every year or so like in XI. FFXIV pads also has an unofficial one created from lodestone data for 1.0 and I think they have plans to do one for 2.0 so maybe watch there in the meantime?

Honestly, though, charts don't matter to me one bit. Not really interested in viewing them myself.

sadly we at XIVpads unable to complete our 2.0 census just yet as our great Premium Virtue, Nemi Chan & Shouu Ket (Devs of XIVdb) are getting ready for 2.1 patchs and all its glory.

I second this! I'd love it if SE released a census! (Maybe even have a site that updates from/like the lodestone instead of a yearly release, even? 0.0 )
