Holding Shift While in Combat Causes Game to Crash

Area and coordinates:Crystal Tower, East Shroud (probably everywhere)
Steps: My OT macros are on the Shift+ hotbar I setup
1.I hold shift while in combat to fight without provoking
2.game crashes

that may be the case, I will investigate. Though I have not made any changes and yet this is suddenly happening. Maybe the recent Windows update changed something.

edit:
1st attempt to fix: sticky keys; I disabled all sticky keys and accompanying announcements.
result: FFXIV still crashes when I hold shift while in combat. The game does not crash when I hold shift out of combat without a enemy targeted. No change.

I suspect this is a FFXIV issue, given it's "in combat" situational occurrence. But TY bohsnake, it was worth a try

After further testing, it seems this may only happen during Crystal tower and after it. Meaning, the crash won't occur unless I am or have been in Crystal Tower and am in combat. It is very situational and I am not surprised others aren't suffering it. I setup my UI so that if I want to fight without using provoke, I hold shift. No one else I know uses such a setup. Most PLD do not have provoke in their tanking macros like I do. My setup has worked beautifully for months and suddenly this weekend it is a game crasher.

Also, it may not be just holding shift while in combat. It may be holding shift & right mouse button, while pressing WASD, and using abilities (which are assigned to my Logitech g600, numbers 1 through =).

Edit: searching other posts, I learned of the Windows Event Viewer. The WEV shows many errors associated with FFXIV:
