Inn room Armoire

Can someone explain why the Armoire in the inn room is so stubborn and restricted?

We can put our class lvl 50 gear in there under Artifact that we get from our end job quests.
But we cant put our AF2 Gear in there we get from trading in myth, let alone darklight gear.

We can put all previous seasonal gear in there from stuff such as the Reindeer Gear but we cant put our santa/snowman gear in it.

We can put Achievement items we get from Achievements in there but we cant put in items from EX HARD modes in it.

Is there a reason why they haven't just allowed us to put any gear in it?

Frustratingly restrictive? Unnecessarily cumbersome? That's Squeenix for you.

kind of also confuses me that as to why we can give soul stones to our retainers and move them around like they are a piece of gear.

kind of waiting for someone to come by and just say PS3 Restrictions.

Think it has more to do with it being a "temporary" thing until housing and possible storage there.

Are those who cannot be reobtained by any means.

AF gear cannot be reacquired, ever.
Achievement items cannot be reacquired, ever.
Event items cannot be reacquired after their event is over.

That is the basic rule of the armoire

New event items don't get allowed in until a later patch, ie Snowman and the Horse Kabutos. Snowman outfit will never be allowed in, because you CAN get it again. It's tradeable. You can stock up on them, give them to alts, whatever. So that will never be allowed in.

That presents an even stronger argument for not doing seasonal or special events. If they're going to give us gear that eats up or already tight storage on ourselves or retainers, why bother doing anything? What's the point if we wind up needing to trash event rewards?

While that true but it's also false as several items already able to be put in were able to be reaquired by recent events such as the reindeer suit and the dragon kabuto. I just don't see why they just cannot just expand the armoire as the events come.
