After just one wipe, DF people rage... why?

I never understood the rage behind wiping. Most people normally respond with "It's wasting my time" or "I don't play this game to lose/die".

Honestly, a video game is meant to waste time, when I see people rage over wipes I just /facepalm and laugh at them. Since when was it a rule to look up fights anyways? I'm sure the people who made the videos on how to do the bosses didn't look up any videos on how to kill the boss.

This basically sums up my DF adventures today, how was your day?

Depends on what you are doing. If you are doing primals I don't see a need to get mad as most people use the DF to learn, but story quests/dailies I can see people getting frustrated if they have ran it so many times and one person causes a wipe repeatedly.

Games being a waste of time is an opinion first of all. Some people enjoy the time they play games, as such, it's not wasted.

Watching videos isn't a rule, but to some, by choosing not to you're choosing not to benefit from the people who have come before you. Those and the ones who want to learn EVERYTHING on their own don't always mix. Not saying they're correct to complain and such, I meant it IS DF, but that's how it is.

When players say it's a waste of time usually they mean their time is better spent doing something that will progress their characters in game. Wiping over and over again if you done the fight enough, you'll know it won't happen with certain groups.

You can't compare yourself to guys in videos who probably play too much, have better skills, and probably playing with a static. In DF you only have an hour with randoms to get it done.

Join titan EX DF. If anyone dies on the second attempt before heart its not happening.

I have wasted a lot of my time thinking people will learn ultima/good king/titan... and these are premade groups with voice. I think people will learn and every time get to see just how bad the majority of people are at this game.

Repeatedly and one time are completely different. If someone is raging after 1 wipe they should chill out. There isn't even any penalty for wiping except losing a few minutes. BFD. Many take this video game way too seriously.

Because it's easier to point fingers and throw a fit then it is to figure what happened and correct it like a grown up

I don't quit after one wipe, i'll only leave if we wipe repeatedly because someone is making the same mistake over and over again.

I was in CT with a Warrior tank who kept turning tail swipes on the party because he hadn't a clue about positioning as a tank. After the inevitable wipe, he ragequit saying he'd never been with such a bad party. Great tank replacement, and good riddance to the chump.

So often the one-wipe quitter is best done without.

P.S. I remember grouping with him once before in a CT, and remember him as a WAR tank who didn't even have Provoke, as he had to ask the other WAR to tank Thantos. Both CT runs I was on my BRD as there's nothing in the raid that my PLD can use.
