    Open up the WORLD please

    Most MMOs have no boundaries. The world of Eorzea needs to be completely free to roam. Players should be able to jump off cliffs, onto rocks, and explore every part of the world. For example, when we reach a small ledge and want to get to the ground below it, we shouldn't have to go all the way around. We should be able to jump down. If it's too far down, it would hurt us or even kill us. This is Final Fantasy; keyword, "Fantasy". There should not be any limitations when it comes to the environment. This is 2011; and Final Fantasy 14. Even Final Fantasy 7 had more free roaming capabilities than this.

    the "small ledge" problem has been fixed long time ago, and without jumping. Not you need to take the long way only on "not so small ledge".
    Also, killing yourself in a canyon is esploration now ?

    ledges and other barriers prevent botters from logging and mining, or at least slow them down so i think they should keep it.
    Go explore Mhora dona, you should have wsome fun there

    Mor Dhona is exactly why I made this thread. I went there for the first time today and it's sad that most of the map are just backdrops. To Yukikaze, you're telling me those tiny ledges around Camp Bloodshore are fine the way they are? I find it ridiculous that you can't jump on/off to a ledge that's only about 3 feet high. It's not just the ledge. I am talking about the entire world being linear and closed. The biggest example would be Gridania. Why are we enclosed in a maze?

    Also, Shinigami, please reread your statement and think for a minute. Most of the logging and miner bots do not move from node to node. Most of them in fact stay at the exact same spot and continue to gather while the node replenishes. I do not like any Blizzard games, but this is why Blizzard is successful while most are not. Game developers should NOT cater to the idea of bot prevention at real players' expense. Want to get rid of bots? The only way to do it successfully is to have real support and GMs who actually monitors the ingame world. Any player who actually plays the game can tell who's botting and who's not. There will never be a way to prevent hacks/cheats/botting in anything that is coded. You can only monitor and control it.

    If I can just insert a little clarification here. You say that Blizzard's game is successful because it has no boundaries, but last time I logged into WoW I looked up and saw the moon and I couldn't travel to it. I mean it's 2011 and WoW doesn't have any astronauts?

    But seriously: I fundamentally agree with you, we should be able to go anywhere and have the means to do so, but there ought to be some limits on it. It's good to be able to jump down off a ledge, but it's not fun to accidentally fall off a cliff. Give us protection from falling off cliffs unless we hit the jump button to confirm our death wish, give us rope for safely climbing down (and back up) things, give us boats and climbing spikes and the ability to climb a tree. Any terrain I can see, let me traverse or die trying.

    It's good to be able to jump down off a ledge, but it's not fun to accidentally fall off a cliff.
    Nah. Everything or nothing. Let's get a serious hit to HP for falling down from too high a ledge, and allow Lancers to ignore that.

    Note aside, If botters dont move from node to node then it will take them an eternity to gather cause i know as a botanist that you can wait a good part of the day beside a node waiting for it to replenish, if you dont hit the next one

    There are certain nodes that replenishes faster because there's not many other nodes around it. Also, that's why you see "bots" getting 50 Fisher before anything else because it's the easiest to bot since the node never runs out.

    Well... When we become capable of swimming, Climbing, Jumping and whatnot, im sure the world will open up a lot more.

    It's too bad there are those against swimming, climbing, Jumping and whatnot.....
