Help needed with controls (PS3)

I have seen it suggested elsewhere online (but have yet to try it myself) to macro the targeting part only and then tap each spell button. This method would take up way less space on the xbar.

eta: I am also becoming more used to swapping between xbars by holding R1. This way I have a solo xbar, a 4 man party xbar, and a buff xbar. Of course they get tweaked as I unlocked more spells. I am contemplating what to do about 8 man parties.
