A couple of question from a newbie need help with clarifications.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Question 1:

So I am a Flame Seals Grand Company fighter. I paid the last promotion which was Flame Company hunting log 2 , Dungeon run of Autumn Vale and 9k flames seals.

Well in the rank chart I see three more ranking system to the right of the red seals, yet when I ask to apply for a promotion, it said no more promotion are available.

I'm level fifty does the Grand Company seals hunt ends there? What about the purple brackets to the right?

    Question 2:

Now that I am max level, should I continue to do quest? Doe sit convert wasted exp into gil like Wow does? Or should I just power through the storyline quest only?

    Question 3:

Do chocobos gain exp from quest or only from world mobs you kill?

    Question 4:

Are level 50 dungeons available when you hit 50? Because I only see one OR is it gated behind reps, dailies, gear score or quests? Is it auto quest that pops up for me or..?

Thank you for any answered questions!

    1. You may want to hold off on the hunting log unless you intend to spend the seals now and need them. Those empty slots are intended for future patches when they expand the number of ranks you can earn in the grand company. You are at the highest possible rank.

    2. You will not gain any additional benefits from doing any quests or killing monsters at Lv.50. Gil and item gains remain the same. Any xp gain is reduced to 0. Playing at 50 will not reduce from your total rested xp bonus either. If you haven't finished the story quests, do so now. This will let you run endgame dungeons and primal fights, which will net you gear higher than iLv. 50.

    3. Chocobos only gain xp from mobs. Grinding them is a difficult undertaking.

    4. Endgame dungeons such as Hard modes, CT, Pharos, and Coil are unlocked after you finish the Praetorium story quest. Coil itself has its own story quest that continues only once you have obtained your first relic weapon. Explore the Waking Sands, Revenants Toll, and Aleport after Praetorium to begin the quests to unlock the dungeons/primals.

    I'll try to help.

    1) You do eventually reach max rank with the GC, should be a Flame 2nd Lieutenant. Outside of hunt log completion there are supply and provisioning missions if you need seals. Seals come in handy for buying gear, engineering/survival manuals, chocobo barding among other items. You may also switch GC's and work on other hunt logs, but you also start over on rank and seals.

    2) Most lv50 quests will reward gil instead of XP. There are new story mode quests from 2.1 after you beat The Praetorium, these will unlock more primal fights.

    3) not sure

    4) Yes there are a lot of lv50 dungeons that will be unlocked through various NPCs. Wandering Palace, Ampador Keep, Crystal Tower, Copperbell and Haukke Manor Hard Mode, Pharos Sirius. Plus the hard and extreme mode primals. Most of these are unlocked at Vesper Bay or Mor Dhona.

    1. Second Lieutenant is the maximum rank at this time. Future patches/expansions will add more.

    2. Exp is simply wasted at level 50. It's not saved, not converted to anything. There are quests you'll want to do for their other rewards (reputation and tomestones from beastman dailies, unlocking content such as Good King Moggle Mog, Crystal Tower, relic weapon, dungeons, etc.). If you have lower level jobs which meet the level requirement for any given quest, you might as well use those jobs to do the quests.

    3. Just mobs you kill.

    4. There isn't a single dungeon in the game that doesn't require a quest to unlock. Once you've done the quest(s), some of them also have item level requirements before you can actually queue for them.

So just for more clarification. I only get the rest of the level 50 dungeons ONCE i finish the main storyline quest. Also the new quest for 2.1 won't have a requirement where you have to finish unrelated storyline quest to do so correct?

The 2.1 questline is related to the 2.0 questline, it is a continuation, so you need to complete 2.0 first.

Yes. All Lv.50 quests require you to finish the main storyline quest. Afterwards, you will unlock each dungeon individually.

I do not understand what you mean by an "unrelated storyline quest" for 2.1, but some quests also have some minor prerequisites for some (extreme and HM primals require you to beat them in order to unlock the next one).

Pretty sure you can unlock Wanderer's Palace without completing the main story line. I suspect Pharos Sirius, Copperbell HM and Haukke HM, too, but I don't know for sure.

Regardless, the only 2.1 instance that's unlocked as part of the main story line is Good King Moggle Mog. All the rest are side quests.

Primals etc are gated behind each other You can only move on to the next primal after beating the previous one then going back to Vesper Bay to unlock the next one (King Mog is it's own questline):
Ifrit (hard) > Garuda (Hard) > Titan (Hard) > Garuda (Extreme) > Titan (Extreme) > Ifrit (Extreme)

WP you can unlock without finishing storyline.
Amdapoor keep is locked behind Aurum Vale which might be a vesper bay one from Nedrick.

Quests have a level associated with them (as of the last patch they are very blatantly shown). Any quest labeled as a level 50 quest doesn't give exp anyway. Those will give more gil, items, or other rewards instead. It is usually a good idea to leave a few undone quests to help you level other classes.

Finishing the main story doesn't take too long. It will unlock a lot of dungeons as they said, but it will also unlock new duty roulettes as well.
