Mercenary tanking for hire?

I dont have a crafting profession, I have EX primal knowledge and an 88 lvl warrior. I was thinking of making a "Tank For Hire" service

-7k per person in the group
-only pay on kills
-will not roll on any items


Does this seem fair? I know it may piss people off but I notice most of the Garuda (and some of Titan) EX groups always need a tank.

Considering one tank can't really carry a party I think most people would just prefer to pay an FC to be carried. You also risk being in a terrible group who wipes 20+ times and never get the win. One person can't really carry a party, so I'm not sure how well this would work.

FC sell individual primal on my server for 2mil, and all 3 for 5 mil. So its a big price different on that end, but requires the group to be mostly competent.

I personally think you'd be better off forming your own group and selling runs. Not that I advocate selling runs in the first place, but it makes more sense gil-wise.

Good luck with that. A knowledgeable tank can make the fight easier but still largely depends on everyone else cooperating. Just because a group needs a tank doesn't mean they will pay for a tank. You can try but I don't think you'll succeed.

Yeah, I can't imagine there being much of a market for this. The intersection of groups with every other spot competently filled and groups with every member willing to pay (or certain members willing to cover the cost) probably isn't going to be that big.

Unless you're talking 7k per member you happen to grab, then DFing the rest. You might get some people who'll pay just for the quick queue and relatively better shot than pure DF.

On the newer fights, this would work better if you have an off tank that you can bring in as part of the package. The newer fights (and coil if you want to include that) incorporate both tanks in very involving roles...so being able to fill both slots with competent tanks would probably increase the appeal of this package.

That's good idea in current situation. I found every PF short of tanks last night.
But you better bring OT buddy as another post said, and collect money per round
(pay for 10 rounds upfront if passed at 5th round, they will pay you for 5 rounds).

5-10 k is reasonable price IMO.

Paying for tanks now. Come on taking the fun out of this game. Same thing with the stupid primal runs.
