Greetings. I play on Sargatanas ans we have here very bad situation with tanks- PF always in need of tanks. And not only that- that few tanks not skilled and we have in common just 2-3 good tanks. And what situation on your server?

During the conversation below the main decision was recovered- different good skilled players (and tanks too) would have more strong wish to come to PArty Finder as the main class they best play, if the game have a function of "lot/pass system set up for premade groups so then we could say I am lotting X item and I will tank (heal, dps) and its my best job" (Zumi words)

Excalibur here. From the few times I have needed to use the party finder it didn't take too long to get tanks. There aren't and abundance of them, but it didn't take an unreasonable amount of time to find some.

This is a lousy catty reply, yet still good advice. I have a pld, brd, whm, and soon a smn at cap. Mnk is next. I think it makes you a better player to have a better idea what is going on with all roles in this game.

Also, it helps to be able to switch jobs sometimes based on the need of the run.

Gotta agree. Although it won't help right away when you get to 50. You still have to gear your character. For example, my character in full Darklight still isn't welcomed in most Extreme primal parties due to the i80+ requirement. But eh, I'm still happy to be able to tank where I can.

This is basically me, I just got my Paladin to 50 and am at about i74. Still, I can tank all the HM primals and dungeons if somebody is in need of a tank. Next to get a healer to 50!

This game doesn't feel like it can promote that kind of idea with the whole myth cap and coil lockout. Doing T5 and EX primal as undergear isn't the most pleasant. Sure is do-able, but your healers gonna pull extra weight.

Be warned playing a tank can be tough. Largely because you have to do everything yourself. Nobody likes taking inexperienced tanks through content, so the only way you will get to do some of it is have a dedicated group of friends with a tank spot open, or start and run everything yourself.

Seriously though, that's what I did. I leveled a tank first thinking they would be scarce like in other games. I would finally be a valued and much-needed team member instead of a benchwarmer. Turns out I was wrong. My FC has an excess of tanks, PF teams are always full on tanks and most of the people on my friends list are tanks. Tanks tanks tanks!

From the look of it, healers are the scarcity. I may have to break down and roll a healer if I want to raid. I really don't want to.

LF ILVL 80+
LF Experience players only. Know the fight.
Must have mumble, 3 forms of ID, and come to Revenant's Toll for full cavity search.
3 derps and you're kicked no hard feelings.

So yeah, doesn't really promote new or inexperience players to join.
