Free Company Bonuses

Does anyone actually have any objection to a Duty Roulette style reward system for running content with Free Company members? Either it's a good idea or a terrible one, so far most of the posts are just completely beside the point...

Free Companies/ Guilds are groups of players with similar interests that would like to run around under a symbolic title or banner. That is probably the biggest bonus of such things. Your surrounded by players who want to do what you do and coordinate with you so that all of you may maximize what you like best about the game.

We could remove bonuses from FCs and FCs would still exist because players with similar interests will still group up under one symbolic title and play together.

The bonuses are just "Bonuses" for joining a FCs.

They are not the fundamental basis for joining FCs and should never be.

The duty roulette idea, depending on how heavily it affected players could be too much or simply just another consumption buff. Make it the fundamental reason for joining a FC and it will also be the same reason why the FC also dies later on.

I just don't get why there would need to be a reward for running with FC members? That's like giving candy to a child for eating cake!

I was focused on answering the question you first posted.

In regards to getting more bonuses for duty roulette etc. with FC members.. well, that's a neat idea sure.
It would still only be once-a-day, though. I can't imagine SE handing out bonuses on every single FC
run that you do. Then it would come to a point where people felt like they HAVE to be in an FC because
they want those bonuses.

If it were to only be a once-a-day deal, as it is now, all that would do is cause you to run a single dungeon
with FC mates and call it a day most likely. They would really have to get it right to make it work, otherwise
you'll see 1000 more FCs pop up with 8 people solely for that dungeon bonus.

Probably why I didn't suggest that. Last sentence of my OP, read it.

You seem rather bitter about something that's not worth being bitter about tbh. Does it really matter if we have FCs and Linkshells? One has guild-like bonuses, the other is a chatroom. You can connect to other FC's through the linkshells without having to be in them, creating a network of friends and people to work with. It's not a bad design as people move onto other FC's that meet the goals they set for themselves but can stay connected to past FCs. Guilds have always been and always will be about friends and doing content together first and foremost. FCs builds upon that with some bonuses for your core group. Just because you don't like the bonuses offered doesn't make it pointless.

They have already said in other posts that they are expanding roulette to groups so I don't know why you even complain about it. There is no point in rewarding FC members doing it together more because like I already said, not everyone wants to play with guilds and you can't give lesser rewards to people for how they choose to play.

Why would you give fc bonues to roulette. That's kinda snooby. The whole point of roulette is to help lesser fortuned players with their runs by matching other players that would not otherwise want to run it

Trying to stack the deck in roulette is stacking the deck in pvp. It's just hypocritical.
