Wobbler, not only an awesome name, but an awesome reply too. Much more technical than I'd have offered. Plus makes sense, hopefully someone will bloody notice this soon as basically I cannot do High level roulette at the moment or help mates with Titan, it's AWFUL in CT also, annoyingly I can do nothing. It's like a hideous proxy. Is there *any* way to get around this?

Thanks Lardinho, there is no FREE way to get around this (unless you have a neighbour who has an ISP that doesn't route via a poor node). If you want so spend some money there are VPN services available that you can use to route your game traffic, for example battleping, WTFast, Pingzapper etc. Make sure that you use their trial first to ensure it works for you but these are services that cost money, so unfortunately you will be stuck with a monthly fee to the VPN provider if you go that route.

I posted in the other looooong thread on this topic that I had recently just moved from Sky broadband to Plusnet and seen a VAST improvement on the connection. I still get lag on occasion but nowhere near the terrible lag I got on Sky. I think the problem is, like many people have already stated, to do with the way that Sky routes the connection to the FFXIV servers. So working fine on other services/games means nothing (because you're going to a different location using different routes), it is just the routing partners Sky uses on the route to the servers are terrible.

Although I agree that SE could help by contacting the company that manage those routes to report issues, it could also be resolved by Sky trying to re-route FFXIV traffic via more stable lines.

Also seeing as it's just the FF14 connection that is affected (and not anything else internet related) there isn't an issue with the ISPs connections (such as Sky and any others reported).

So while neither SE or Sky/other ISPs are solely to blame, they do need to provide a solution as the route they have set up for their data to travel between each other is faulty. This also explains why not all ISPs are being affected, as different ISPs would have their data travel via different routes.

(This is my current understanding of it, at least.)
pingzapper does not "fix" my latency problems, and in fact this last 6 hour update on the 21st has INCREASED my latency even using pingzapper.

titan Extreme is my main beef with SE, such restrictive mechanics that they suck the fun out of the game.

a challenge is one thing, but titan just sucks, period.

edit: read some forum tech issues: i've decided that at the end of my current subscription, if SE hasnt fixed these issues, they're not getting any more of my money.

well I hate to say it but I bought 1 month on HMA! and ALL my rubberbanding issues have disappeared. Unbelievable, but effectively I'm paying £20 a month now for my legacy account instead of the norm =(

Have you tried the game without HMA (I'm not actually sure what that is) today at all? A few people (myself included) have stopped getting the lag spikes as of this afternoon.
