I found a whopping ONE reply asking for an explanation:

No, seriously. This hurts no one and it's a much requested feature. So why the heck not?
I only found Naunet asking why but you believe we are all up in arms and pitchforks demanding an explanation from Square-Enix. Again, I am content with not having chat bubbles. What I do not understand from the players opposed to this is why do they strongly believe that player chat bubbles would be introduced without the option to turn them off?

Then, the rest of your post makes no sense:

We do not work for Square-Enix, therefore they are not our boss. We are paying consumers and they provide content for us. Also, Hvinire and Triairy said there are no current plans anytime soon. They never gave an absolute no as you keep implying. If the demand for player chat bubbles grows to an unimaginably large number, it will not be ignored.
