See, that's what makes no sense - If it hurts no one to implement then it also hurts no one if it's not implemented. I asked a question - Is the chat system unusable in it's current form? Are you unable to type /channel "text"? The one thing we do need is better transparency controls on the chat, that is definitely true.

I find it funny and slightly ironic that you basically don't want to be forced to not have something but want to force something you want on others and tell them to simply "toggle it" :\ SE clearly finds it not that high of a priority item to implement because there are far more things to implement. The way people act when they get told no is as if the game is UNPLAYABLE if they don't have a feature they want -.-

    Infallible logic right here.

lolwat... What's wrong with telling others to toggle an option they don't like? I wouldn't mind having any option that would satisfy any amount of players, small or big, as long as it togglable... Why would I mind that...? toggling an option takes 10 seconds of entering the game menu and you're set for a lifetime...

Did you type that with a straight face? xD It clearly does hurt to not implement it, as there are people here and in other threads who have explained how their chat experience would be much improved with such a feature. Just because chat is still technically functional without it does not mean that the system can't be vastly improved.

This is the mindset of a consumer who will never get the best that they could from a product. It's a bad mindset in a capitalist society. Entitlement is not actually a bad thing from a consumer standpoint.

I expect to get what is advertised, which is something I think the vast majority of people have gotten from FFXIV (and if they haven't, they have every right to take the game back to the store and demand their full refund, which they've probably already done). Greed and arrogance and self righteousness and many other things are also good from the individual's own stand point but that doesn't mean they're warranted. We got what we paid for. We did not make the game and we are not making the game. SE is making the game. They are free to make whatever decisions they want so long as those decisions do not interfere with the rights of the consumer (which does not include the right to dictate how the game is made to their own tastes). Pursuing what one is rightfully entitled to is not a bad thing (regardless of capitalist cultures or anything of the like), pursuing what is not rightfully entitled to the individual is. There is a very big difference.

Sorry for going off topic but that is a misunderstanding that many seem to fall for when fighting for what they want rather than for what is theirs. About time someone pointed out the difference >_>
