It's a silly, childish, and far too cartoony idea for this game. It worked in WoW because everything thing looked like a cartoon anyway. Works in games like Ragnarok for the same reason...wouldn't look right at all in FFXIV.
Too cartoony? I'm sorry... but really?
This game is hardly the pinnacle of realism, both in it's general look or it's cut scene animations, especially if you ever go talk to Hildebrand; And no matter how "realistic" anyone thinks this game is, i don't see how it would harm your gameplay experience is effected by a toggle where only the people who want the added experience of chat bubbles would receive it.
The people that talk like strike me as the hipsters that sit in coffee shops, judging everything as pedestrian in a vain attempt to make it seem like only their particular tastes are relevant.

Well then. Tell the development team that a ton of us would like to have the option of having speech bubbles. Those who say nay to this feature involuntarily assume that it will be forced down their throats. As others have said already, keep it toggled off and this would absolutely never be a problem for you.

You might as well have just stopped your childish rant immediately after you typed that horrific analogy. Did you honestly, just relegate not having chat bubbles in a video game to being stabbed in the eye? I do not care if you were trying to prove a point to the validity of another's logic, your analogy does not correctly convey anything that had to do with the previous statement. Does it cause you physical pain to not have a chat bubble? I think not.
Unfortunately, I read the rest of what you posted as well. I won't make that mistake again. You have an opinion about why chat bubbles would be beneficial to have in this game. Someone, else stated an opinion of why they don't believe they are needed. So now, the person in disagreement has 'a brain the size of a mosquito?' Good form. Debate isn't your strong suit.
I look forward to not reading anything you have to say on this matter anymore either. Fact is, there is only two of you vehemently arguing for this topic. Personally, I could care less if there are chat bubbles. I have no problem turning them off if they are implemented. Following this debate was fun until I read this post. All your points have been rendered negligible in my eyes as a result of your immature reply.
Please say "it doesn't matter what you think". Your right, it doesn't. It matters what SE thinks. And this is what they think:
I do NOT want to see this, AT ALL.
Too much clutter. If I wanted speech bubbles I'd go play PSO2.
