I kind of want to dispel what someone said about the gameplay not getting faster at higher levels.

Your GCD can be decreased with skillspeed/spellspeed, but not by much. What DOES change is the amount of abilities that you get access to. This would include ones that are off of the GCD in addition to a wider variety of GCD abilities.

The latter portions of this game are very heavily focused on mechanics and dodging, being good at your class should be automatic by the time you are ready to tackle the end-game stuff like the Binding Coil of Bahamut and Extreme Mode Primals.

I will say getting to level 10 in any class is not indicative of what that the class will be like at higher levels. Are you leveling up via just murdering helpless small creatures, or are you questing/etc? FATEs are good way to level when there are others around, but the quests from the main scenario and your class quests make the lower levels more fun than just Bootshine>True Strike>Bootshine>True Strike.

The game will change when you get to level 15 and can start doing dungeons, you can level up very quickly (especially with your daily roulettes) in dungeons. If I had to make a "pro" or "life-hack" suggestion, I would say to use a tank or a healer as your first class to 50 if you want to get there fast and are most interested in battle (vs. gathering/crafting).

If you are OK with long queues for Duties that you can fill up with gathering rocks and trees for some extra gil, then a DPS will be OK. But if you want to go fight monsters and wrong-doers (and do-gooders?) for most of your time, having a tank or healer as your class/job will allow you to progress much faster and will save you the frustration of long long queue times.
