My account been inactive since November 3 but anyway this game is worth playing im returning in a week. You have to have an active account to post on the forums. Most people with active accounts, who read the forums, are currently paying for and playing for the game. It's a very, very small percentage who've cancelled their subscriptions, but still have time left and still read the forums. So your sample size has a bias; most of the responses will be from people who are paying and playing.
That being said, yes. It's miles better than 1.0. There are still issues and a lot of things that could use polish, but it's playable and enjoyable.
@OP - Come to Excalibur/create a character on this server and I'll help you out, and not only me but my LS.
I have an archer that i can level with ya so I can show you some of the ropes, and well lets just have some fun! We can even chat on skype/teamspeak if you feel comfortable. Since typing will only get you so far lol
Anyways, I hope to see you - via reply to this post, and look for you In game!![]()
I am a winner, even though I sometimes fail.
It's definitely worth playing and you should check it out for yourself. You'd need more than 6 days playtime lol... there's so many things to do in the game ;o
Hello, I also played 1.0 and was actually only giving this game a try for 1.5 months. I never expected to be playing it 4 months later, so be warned. Anyway, on to the issues.
The team did a great job to improve the overall story flow, gameplay mechanics, and quest systems. It is literally light years ahead from 1.0. Some players still complain about the slow global cooldown at 2 seconds, but it becomes unnecessary at higher levels where you have abilities off that cd and the combat requires more complicated movement and combos.
It is relatively easy to reach Lv.50 (especially with duty roulette helping players in lower level dungeons), but there is a hurdle you must clear to reach endgame. Unfortunately, many of these are simply about knowing the fight and having the equipment to finish it. Once you do though, it gets repetitive as you are essentially running the same content over and over again. Admittedly, it doesn't differ too much from the established MMO formula, and it has the same problems as others of the genre.
For the most part, it depends largely on who you're playing with at this point though. Find a good FC or a good static LS group to progress through content with. It will help keep interest in the game and let you know you're making progress. Some of the fights, such as Coil of Bahamut and the extreme primals are maddeningly difficult.
The PvP is interesting, and is worth a try, but it is definitely not the focus of the game. There are just a lot of issues to work around still until it gets really compelling.

I've been playing almost daily since late August. It's a great game. It's my first MMO and I couldn't be happier. It's certainly worth a try.
I think those who find it boring at 50 maybe find a linkshell or if not in one a Free Company. This way you can all organize coil, hm dungeons, even crafting, etc.
Only thing i currently detest at lvl50 is not getting any Primal weapon after like 30 or so times.
Coil, well just not sure i would be experienced enough for it
With 6 days left on your sub, why not play the game for the week-end as much as you can and judge by yourself?
You'll have fun, garanteed!
Thanks for all the responses. I've been playing for a bit and I am really enjoying it so far and that's saying something as I'm only lvl 5! Am I the only one who walks in the game though? I see everybody rushing around and I just take my time enjoying the beauty of the game![]()
Testing Siggy.
