Luminary tools VS new Ultimate tools

Ok what is the point?
Have you guys seen the reqiurements to get the new Ultimate tools?
They are exact duplicates of the Luminary tools only far FAR easer to get...

So I am asking again, is there something that I miss?
What is the point of these tools?
Why are the same as the luminary ones?
Why does a tool that takes 4 hours to get has the same stats as a tool that takes months to get?

Who cares? That was then, this is now.

There was nothing left to do back then, so we ground out Luminaries. If both systems where implemented back then, everyone would have the "ultimate tools" and luminaries for fun.

The lumanary tools are just to show of your epeen . And than still most that had them "auto-crafted" there way to them . This is a way fit normal ppl to get the stats the need . I do feel like they should have made them a crafted item that could be spiritbounded now the crafted tools are pointless

this is just like when SE introduced new weapons with base stats comparable or even higher than level 99 relic in XI

Because the Luminary tools are achievement items. Achievement items are only for display, not proper use

pretty sure that plenty of achievement items can be use properly

The achievement items are just as functional as the New ultimate tools is. the biggest difference? The new tools take skill, by creating HQ items on stuff that isnt exactly the easiest to HQ on (which can become pricey if not careful)

The luminary tools were based on 1.0 largely to give people something to do while apocalypse was winding down on top of their heads, and also, it doesnt require as much skill, just monotonously pouring away at synths/gatherings pulling up your timer.

They both have their challenges, and it really just comes down to which you would prefer getting.

what are those Ultimate tools, and how does one get those?

Ultimate "blue" tool is the one you receive for completing the last (lvl 50) class quest while Luminary - with the same stats but in gold - are achievments rewards - takes a lot of grinding. Until Patch 2.1 they had no added bonus (same stats as ultimate tools) so not so many people bothered to get Luminary and also for some weird reason while Ultimate tools have nice posh work tables / benches the Luminary ones were still using the "normal" pre-ultimate tables (don't know though of that hasn't been changed with current patch). Since the new patch the Luminary tools have added bonus of 10% decrease in damage.
