WHM gets the Proshell trait which turns Protect into Protect+Shell, so Shell is already in the game (and probably on you in most dungeons/raids).
We had shell in 1.0 but was removed to be more streamlined. Much like my post they wanted to remove number of actions whm had to do at beginning of a dunegon and didnt seem the need to have shell & protect apart since there casted together all the time.I can see Auto-Protect being a thing, but not Auto-Stoneskin. Protect is always there until the timer on it runs out. Stoneskin, once you take a certain amount of damage through Stoneskin, that's literally it. The buff goes away before the 30 minute timer on it is up.
Though, and I know this is the wrong place for it, but why don't we have access to Shell either? That'd be kinda useful against magical enemies.
Protect has shell built into it since we got jobs in 1.0.
Dont need marcos to beat this game. xi is another story.
In a game with so much insta wipes and one-shots you really *should* be okay with dying imo.Coming from EQ1, I am often baffled and shocked by the very very short recovery time from a wipe.
In EQ if a raid wipes, it takes 15-30 minute to get back to where you were and to regain mana and rebuff. In FFXIV its 15-30 seconds. I know they are different games completely, but the easier you make it to recovery from a death the more people will be ok with dying.
