Lol had to like as I have done this a couple of times esp early runs of doing Titan.Recommend you just slam out the words "Ain't done this before." every time until you get decent people. It takes a while, but it works.

Quoted for truth. What's up with all the mean people?
I don't know. MMORPG's used to be fun. Granted the only experience I had was FFXI and sure there were some meanies, but nowhere close to this game. I hear people saying this behavior is common in other games nowadays like WoW or whatever, but I don't find it an excuse. You shouldn't be allowed to behave badly just because other people behave badly somewhere else too.
I'm scared of entering a dungeon the first time. Sure I watch videos, even though mind you I shouldn't have to. Ridiculous people actually bully you into doing that. Sure I could run with the FC but it's just not that large. I think hardly any FC on my server is large.
I haven't entered Garuda Extreme yet. I'm just too scared of people. I am absolutely sure there's some move I won't dodge. Then the verbal abuse starts.
I did the Crystal Tower thing once. It was horrible. Not the dungeon that is. The people.
I dared to enter Bahamut's Coil once. I didn't do well, was yelled at. Never going to enter it again.
It's true that there was a lot less of bad behaviour in FFXI becaus the whole community was different.
People back then knew, if someone went through certain content, they had a certain level of skill.
Also, people remembered good players and would stay in contact for future content.
Players communicated and made fun while leveling.
The content was more forgiving too. There were less 1-hit death attacks and things like speedruns just didn't exist because there were no dungeons.
I think that's part of the problem with FFXIV.
The endgame content we have doesn't allow mistakes, and connection problems can make it impossible to prevent mistakes.
But because that's not only the problem of that player but has an effect on the whole party, players who make mistakes get blamed for wipes and failed tries.
I also notice alot more players who refuse to use the language they selected in their client and search comment or the Auto-Translate function.
If you play with an english client and have selected english in your profile, you should also use english when communicating with the party. Not french, spanish, german,...
Reading guides or watching videos of fights before you try them for the first time...
Yes, it helps if you have a rough idea of what to expect, but getting angy, leaving a group or even start insulting players because they don't know the fight, is out of question.
I had such an experience when our FC wanted to give Garuda EX a shot for the first time.
We asked if someone had done it before and if they had any tips for us or could explain the general mechanics of the fight. Guess what.
The only thing we got were insults and flame for comming to a (at that time new) fight without knowing what to do by watching videos.
I know what you mean. I really do.
I think that's the reason some players tend to be as****** ingame, because they can't be in RL.
However. The only solution for me is to only do content with members of my FC (which is rather small too but we have enough to do 8-man 1-2 times a week) and ignore all the "bad" players out there.

My experience has been mostly positive, being new to MMOs I heard that this game attracted alot of people new people to this type of game, and so far that is what I have seen.
Reading this is kinda surprising cause it's been the exact opposite for me. Could have something to do with being a dps and not a tank or healer though, now that I'm leveling my tank class the abuse may start.![]()
