I can get what you are saying. All I can say is don't give up, it gets better.

People are very unforgiving, this is true. But if you keep trying, you will become good at whatever you are trying to do. It's hard to nail it the first time and I really doubt most of these people giving you trouble did it well their first time either.

Giving up is just sad because, you are just avoiding the problem. It becomes a bigger monkey on your back. It's not just going to go away just because it's unfair. This is just how things can be in this game. It's probably the same in others.

If it's any consolation, usually the biggest "haters" in this game are the ones the struggle the most at the game. It's a way to defend themselves against their own shortcomings. They see a problem in others that they themselves share and lash out at it. I'd like to think the silver lining is, the people that endure at this game longest are generally willing to help, though they aren't going to go advertise their assistance. But, if you keep trying at something and don't give up, they notice; I'd think you'd find, you'd have some allies in your quest.

Aww Kat - so sorry to hear about your experiences I had an alt on your server and I know you lead a casual/new player helping FC there. I, also, used to have a fear of doing dungeons that I was new to, or instances with all those mean people who would yell/rage if one little mistake was made. After bard, I made a PLD - and now I just tank the best I can and if anyone rages or calls names, I'm out - plus, I almost exclusively run things only with my LS - FC. If you ever want to server transfer, I run a LS and FC on Leviathan called Benevolence. Our whole goal is to help new players and new 50s, and we usually have around 35-40 on every night during US - EST. Good luck to you, though - I feel saddened with this 'community' as far as PF and DF goes -- nothing like FFXI at all, due to the reasons listed above and, I believe, stuff like roulette which caters to solo play :/ Take care of yourself!!

I sort of feel that way and reason why i skip Duty Roulette especially now at level 50.
Being new to mmo's i really do not like to be judged harshly by certain players
I also tend to blame myself if the group dies as i hate letting people down

yes, ive noticed lots people are very unfriendly in endgame , but the frustrating nature of the game plays a part in their behaviour imo , i wouldnt say they are bad people by default

Don't pay attention to them, asshats are everywhere sadly. And if you're lucky, you'd get a guy like me who is willing to help you learn the dungeon (hopefully without having to outright tell you what happens, learning by doing is by far the funnest way to do it in my opinion, I never watch videos beforehand).

Plus you have a chance to prove yourself sometimes as a first timer. My first Ultima HM run was with my brother and one of our best friends, all three of us were new. We all said we were new and only our friend had watched a video. They threatened to kick, but didn't (think they didn't have enough of a majority since the 3 of us came together). Only explanation was "stack on orbs and dodge". Wiped a couple times (mainly because LB used at the wrong time towards the end, lag excuses, which probably was legitimate, friend was having lag issues too). In the end one of them said something like "I'd be glad to run with you new guys any day".

Yes there are a lot of mean people out there, but not everyone is going to shout at you I am very picky about what I pug, I have a (relic) healer and tank but I hardly ever pug as my tank. but i'll happly pug with my healer in the daily roulette or Crystal Tower. Once you get over fear of being new and experiencing dungeons it will become much easier

The Best advise I can give is to find a friendly free company to learn content with.

If someone starts some crap i simply kick them. Turns out most of the time the rest of the team also find such personalities annoying. Just make sure to say its your first time so people know what to expect.
Another tip is to start party finder practice runs for content. Remember, you are not alone in this situation.

Best advice I can give is to stop relying on duty finder, and start joining in these events with your free company.

I understand the hesistation. I got super anxious about trying Titan Hard Mode, would psych myself out about it. And after dealing with that, I ended up waiting 3-4 weeks longer than I needed to before venturing into Coil. And I haven't tried Garuda EX yet for the same reason.

The best solution I can give - Party Finder. Start a party, make sure the first comment you type for it is LEARNING PARTY! EXPECT DEATHS AND FUN! You will end up with a group full of people that are probably also in your situation that would probably be quite competent if given a chance to learn. And hopefully you'll get someone who is a bit more experienced to help lead it along.

And once you've beaten your head on the content for a while, you'll get better, have less anxiety about entering them, and you can start rolling in the sweet sweet Allagan loot.
