I'm more afraid to progress because I'm milking everything there is to do before end game. I read about all these people who are bored and sick of the game at end game level and I don't want to be that way. Currently, I have so many game goals it's almost staggering. Also, I read all these threads about mean people but I can only recall two duty finder groups I've had in game thus far where people's behavior was unacceptable. Everyone else has been pretty darned decent to me. My experiences cannot account for all, but I do believe there are plenty of great folk left in the game.

Well when you have a duty-finder, where people can cross-server, people can do what ever they want. You can't give names on the forums about the person, even if you have video and screenshots of the person doing something bad. There is literally next-to-nothing of punishment to these horrible players. On rare occasions the special task force does something, but far and few between.

You have bots that have been running around for months after constantly being reported several hundred times by what people say.

I am not scared of doing dungeons or trying to progress personally. What I don't like is wasting peoples time. I have bad lag during the titan EX fight. Plus it's embarrassing, trying to be Eorzea's only Red Wizard., and seeing a message "You can't dodge..." when you are practically have your pinky toe holding you on the ledge when you ran to the edge when plumes popped everyone.

When someone says something like that, it really shows how easily people can't even show a basic form of human empathy and how disconnected they are with their actions and the consequences of their actions, even if it is on the internet. It's sad.

@Op I ran into a lot of idiots through DF whilst doing Titan hard. You have to ignore them I would get statements like "Watch the Video" "Learn how to dodge" "Kick him" etc etc. I would reply with either fine kick me but you will see me soon I am not giving up until I win or I would skip DF for the rest of the day cause until I win I will be trying again. I do not understand some people on 14 all the time I played 11 we tried and tried again till last few mins on clock to win. Where as on 14 1 to 2 deaths and the party or players are disbanding.

I also temporary quit as tank for now as just like someone pointed out I never knew the dungeons as soon as I hit 50 and got all sorts of stick and aggro from players. I decided I would level dragoon learn the dungeons then go back to War after. With regards to CT I have tried it a few times mixed reactions some good party's and some with other alliances shouting kick someone just because they new and making mistakes. Touch wood I have not been kicked or someone asking for me to be kicked in CT as yet lol.

I dont know what happened to the help each other out to get through this mentality went. It was the same on 11 time I left in 2013 after over 11 years. Where people wouldn't let you in without a relic/mythic etc or you had to buy runs. People used to do that stuff for free.

I haven't entered Garuda Extreme yet. I'm just too scared of people. I am absolutely sure there's some move I won't dodge. Then the verbal abuse starts.

I did the Crystal Tower thing once. It was horrible. Not the dungeon that is. The people.

I dared to enter Bahamut's Coil once. I didn't do well, was yelled at. Never going to enter it again.

I wish someone was nice.. even once. Real life is horrible enough.. why do I pay for a game to get insulted? Grow a thicker skin you say maybe? Been bullied enough in my life to just not make that possible. Thought I could escape it here. Maybe I can't.
I'm sorry that got scared away from dungeons, Crystal tower, coil, etc because of mean players. You should be able to play the way you want to play, without fearing verbal abuse if something were to go wrong or you not "performing up to their standard".

Growing a thicker skin might help some, but you should never have to do it in the first place.

There are nice people all around Eorzea. But for every nice guy/girl, there is bound to be a jerk too. All we can do is help one another out in having fun while doing the things we love to do.

So, if you ever decide to switch to Sargatanas. Let me know. I'll help you out as best as I can.

I was kinda scared of healing Pharos Sirius simply because I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up with all the heals required on the last boss. Yesterday, I grew a pair and went in to do it. Granted, we didn't get past the first boss (tank would not take aggro, we wiped) and they all left. Didn't get far, but I felt confident I could do all of it. Playing Healer, I am out of my comfort zone (I main SMN) so before every dungeon I'd make sure to at least watch a video so I know what to expect. That way I have a better chance of doing my job properly.

As for people shouting at you/getting annoyed etc, ignore them. I always do. If they rage at me, I just ignore them. It's a lot easier that way. For games like this, you do need a thick skin, since it is full of children who will try and make you feel bad/annoy you. Just ignore them and the game is a lot more fun.

Why should a group of experienced half to wipe or carry you because your to lazy to watch a 10min video, its not fun wipeing

You should also learn not to take people on the internet so seriously. half the trolls are 13 year olds kids who barley even know how to use a computer

While i would like to be in an elitist world it isnt needed, you have a great tool called Party Finder. Also you can join a FC that fits with your playstyle. If you arent exp dont join a exp party, just join a learning party. Duty finder is a bit random so you can expect everything xD

I get this. Unless I'm right at the front (Launch of x gamepiece) and everyone is a noob, then I can't get called out for not knowing things :> Thankfully I was right on top of things fro mBeta 3 so I got all the way through praetorium before it started getting bad. 2.1 didn't go so well, I only got Ultima downed with any relative speed, everything else needed exp to take part in .-. All them kids off school while I was at work D:<

That said, I tend to end up just getting pissed off after a while and bully my way into a group, get the oh so needed "exp" and can then join people requiring it, though I still avoid the "1 deth = kik" and the like groups. **** them.

Recommend you just slam out the words "Ain't done this before." every time until you get decent people. It takes a while, but it works.
