I admit that having a Mamet has a certain appeal to it. It could clank and clunk around the house. Giving it crystals keeps it energized for whatever tasks need to done around the place.

It would be pretty cool if we could upgrade our mog houses through quests. For example, you could add a basement, or extra rooms, similar to the way Animal Crossing handles upgrades. Maybe you do a quest, and pay off the contractors who upgrade your house.
note:
Instanced shops makes no sense.
Non-instanced shops makes sense.
but
Instanced housing makes sense.
Non-instanced housing has a lot of problems.
Therefore shops tied to an instanced MH will not work.
I want a linkshell headquarters
I am hoping that if Player Companies (not to be confused with Public Companies) actually make it into the game they come with Player Company housing. By this I mean a house/headquarters if you will for our LS/Player Company where we have access to various features. In our House I would like the following things:
- A main communal room which we can decorate and also mount trophies from our NM's kills and completed missions
- A Communal Storage area where I can drop off mats and items which I may not find useful but a crafter in our LS might.
- A Chocobo stables for raising our Chocobo's and looking after them.
- An Airship landing pad for our Airship.
- A dock for our boat.
- Private quarters that we can decorate and also storage for our gear that we wouldn't put in the communal storage.
- A crafter area that you could kit out with support benches.
- A garden would also be nice too that we could grow things in.
If they could do all that I would be very happy.
*EDIT*
I added those Dev Tags for you, well I added Dev 1002 and Dev 1003 as there doesn't seem to be one strictly for this type of thing.

I would love any game that offered something like that. You had me sold before "airship landing pad" but I just can't get that part out of my head. <3 Taking the fight to the Garlean Empire, traveling to parts unknown, throwing birthday parties at 30,000 feet*.I am hoping that if Player Companies (not to be confused with Public Companies) actually make it into the game they come with Player Company housing. I think the Mog Shop could be more on a personal level of buying goods. What i mean is that they can take the Disgaea route and make it where if you bought items from your shop, you'd level it up, where you can buy better equipments and stuff.
Along with that, you'd need to sell certain materials to your mog/retainer in order for them to create new ones for you to buy. So say you wanted them to be able to sell Brass Lances, you'd have to have leveled your shop to level 17-20 and have to have sold enough Brass Ingots and Copper Lances in order for them to sell Brass Lances.
However, that is not to say they would sell them at a reasonable price, crafting one yourself would be far less costly, but not everyone likes to craft, so this would make for a great alternative.
