That link is from a diagram I made a while back for FFXI (sadly the idea was shot down due to the PS2 limitations :x) Anywho I figured this would be a decent time to bring it back up but for FFXIV instead. The main room is the same exact size as the one in XI (counted the squares and all). The black spots are places where you cannot place furniture but that can be changed to fit XIV's collision system, the gray areas will become "no furniture" zones once you do a quest or whatnot to gain access to the newer portions of the house.

As far as shops go, sounds cool, but it really doesn't fix the market wards problem it just moves it to a new location, sadly. Also if the houses are all personally instanced then how would they be viewed by other people? (unless there is a zone with everyone's house listed? If so, I think the MW would be easier to find what you are looking for instead of searching countless houses for your items. And for the storage, let us have the Safe AND the Retainer. Limit the retainer's inventory to be a little smaller and give us quests to increase our Safe size (content please don't just hand it to us).

Mail system, yes please; but Moogles play an entirely different roll in XIV than they did in XI, so having them the ushers of the races seems a little off. So maybe instead of a Moogle flying in to drop off mail what about having a mail slot on the front door where every hour (in game) or so letters get pushed through the slot and flutter to the ground in front of the door.

Gardens and decor, of course. It's not your house without personal flair.

Something to make it more unique and different from XI? How about the ability to purchase or do a quest to add on a "crafting room" you can only pick two crafts and it will make a small room that is themed to look like the craft you've selected. You can then use the different objects in the room to help your crafting skill, each having different effects of the crafting process.

For example: Cooking skill is you main craft? Do a quest, get your own personal kitchenette room. You can use the counter-top to speed up (increases the % increase per successful attempt) crafts using the knife. Then you have a stove top that does the same but when you use the skillet tool. And Oh no what's this, your character having a bunch of unsuccessful attempts? Why not head over to the kitchen sink to wash your tools and receive the buff to increase the rate of successful attempts. But most of all make all this QUEST RELATED PLEASE, don't just give us everything, people are screaming for content and this seems like a great way to make some.

Anywho, those are my thoughts. All in all, Housing? Yes please!

A nice big mog house, I could live with what you've drawn up.

Well, that depends on what problem you are referring to? It solves the overcrowding issue and the taxing of hardware, but doesn't address people's preference for an AH (or basically a buy-it-now option). Personally, I'd like the option of either buying an item directly from the item search counter and being charged a convenience fee or teleporting directly to the shop selling the goods and paying less.

Add little kiosks near the stores where you can bring up another item search counter and wallah, jump directly to the next store. No running around endless corridors and fruitless searching. Because, searching countless houses or searching countless retainers isn't all that different. Both are generally a waste of time.

And yes! Don't just hand content to us, make us work for it, make it mean something.

A crafting room is a great idea. In FFXI, I remember saving up for weeks just to get my Alchemist apron and um... club thingy. We've already got the guild mark system in place, add some expensive items in there and give us something to work together.

Oh, and, of course, a card table for playing Triple Triad with your friends.

I was perusing the dev tags to see if anything came close to housing and the best I could come up with (and it's a weak relationship at that) is... dev1002 - Storylines and World Quests or dev1003 - Grand Companies quest.

Getting a house could be a reward or perk for completing some important world quest. It might work well with the Grand Companies they plan to add. Do enough work for them and they'll throw you this bone. Of course, there's a weekly upkeep that needs to be paid and they don't take gil, only Grand Companies specially printed coins.

I want to say again that when I got the idea for Mog House Shops, it was to replace the retainer systems in so to make it just a menu based/ personal venue shopping option. It wasn't, however, meant to replace the Auction House where items are sold together.

Mg House Shops has the capability to control your own price where an Auction House does not (Under general circumstances). Adding an AH would be wonderful, but I think taking away the retainers for it is out of the question unless a Mog House form is implemented.

    (My opinion of course.)

I do like this idea. When I thought to put in into my post, the "Atelier" series' shops came to mind and I really wanted to have that idea in FFXIV. Market Wards are almost close to this if you see it right: Stands could be replaced by houses containing players' shops and made to design for the ware they sell. Take that from the wards and move it to the Mog House zone, and to save travel and searching time the MW bring, have it so you may search from a menu the player or item you're looking for and it will take you to that persons shop or buy from the menu.

Supported. I would also like the Mog Houses / Customizable player shops to be integrated into some type of Linkshell market district. Where linkshells could manage an entire street of vendors and houses for players to shop. Then the item search counter wouldn't go to waste and there would be a sense of community and customization.

Jinrya-Geki, that is why I made the blip about the extra crafting rooms (but max it to two crafting rooms to make people specialize in crafts; thus encouraging a world market instead of linkshell and/or self markets with no world market) Basically specializing in two crafts over the rest would be the idea, lol.

As much as I liked having my own personal Moogle in FFXI, the lore surrounding Moogles in FFXIV is different. In FFXIV, they're rare creatures to the point that they're occasionally abducted and sold on the black market. This is not a practice I think we adventurers should be taking part in.

Having our own houses et cetera would be great, but we should still allow the Moogles their freedom.

In keeping with the Lore... Add a really long winded (many parts) quest where you learn more about moogles, and eventually save one that befriends you. Thus adding a reason why a rare moogle would want to live/work with you.
