I have been using the titan book over the plain omnilex recently and it seems to work fine. Have no idea if 23 piety is better than 33 spell speed though.

This one is a bit tougher to work out. As it's more about preference than actual math. That 33 spell speed will give you near nothing, not even a 0.1 second on your cast. 23 Piety? A lot of people will argue that 'if you're not running out of MP, why do you need anymore?'

Well, it's a little more complicated than that, but not by much. Having more Piety increases your Aetherflow regeneration and MP regeneration in general. It also allows you to be a little more nonchalant with your casts and throw in a few more Lustrates rather than resorting to Energy Drain.
