SCH Convert ...

As a person who played ARC for the ability to become SMN then converted this week to a SCH. I need a few pointers

From what I can tell, SCH wants to Stack Crit first then Det.

In this thinking, would it be better for me to farm Moogle Primal for his Book or still get Omnilex?? Is the 31 Crit better than 1 Magic Dmg and MND increase from Relic??

I probably won't get Zenith anytime soon, as I am gearing my MNK alt first.

If you don't plan on getting the Omnilex Zenith, you might as well get the Mog Book. No, it's not really better than the plain Omnilex, but the difference is pretty small in practice. If you can get the Mog Book easily, it's safe to wait on getting the Omnilex until you can Zenith it right away.

Upgrading from Munificent Mogtome to Omnilex Zenith will give you a 5.58% flat overall healing increase. We all love crit, but it isn't consistent enough to negate the overall healing increase. Another thing to take into account is your groups Limit-break.

Limit-break damage works like so; it takes the overall weapon damage of the entire group and gives you a number, so by not getting either Omnilex Zenith, Cognitome or Direwolf Grimoire you're reducing your groups Limit-break.

In that case the difference between the two is minimal. Get the Mogtome, it makes a noise when you open it.

Looking around at some posts talking about stat weights and priorities, it seems like 1 MND = ~3 Crit Rate = ~5 Determination. Not sure about the weight of Spell Speed (some posts have said it's about equal to Determination).
And 1 Weapon Damage is typically worth about 8 points of your main stat for any class (MND, in the case of Scholars).

Here are the positive comparative differences in DPS-related stats between the Omnilex and the Mogbook:
Magnificent Mogbook = +31 Crit
Omnilex = +1 Weapon Damage, +3 MND, +16 Det, +11 Spell Speed

Using the weights listed above, the 31 Crit gained from the Mogbook is equivalent to about 10 Mind.
Using the weights listed above, the 1 Weapon Damage, 3 MND, 16 Det and 11 Spell Speed gained from the Omnilex is equivalent to about 14 Mind. Plus 11 Spell Speed and 3 Vitality.

The difference between the two weapons equates to a few Mind and a few Vitality; nothing particularly game-changing. If you're strictly interested in having the best i80 Weapon in terms of healing-per-second, then it looks like the Omnilex is the one you want. The Mogbook looks and sounds pretty darn cute, though, and the actual difference in healing-per-second between Omnilex and Mogbook is relatively small.

Pretty much dabbling in SCH just to have a healer role, if it is needed as a fill in. If the healing is negligible and it sounds uber cute, I'm In.

Just in case you do Titan HM anytime soon, you may want to take the SCH book from there if you see it drop as it is i80 now and equal to or better than a plain Omnilex. I'd say to still go after the Mog Book but if the Titan one drops when helping anyone out with their relics (as mine did) don't look a gift horse in the mouth =P
