So I'm sure this has been talked about before, seeing how ugly and thrown together this armor set looks... While the "essence" of the armor is fine, it's just poorly executed resulting in something that myself and many many others don't want to wear. I'll list my grievances accompanied with suggestions to make it easier.
1. Elbow Guard Size: These are simply too large and result in allot of clipping... Suggestion? I'd reducing their size by 25%. I'd also suggest reducing the size of the blades on the back of the knees by a bit as well
2. Metal Skirt Animation: This is suppose to be segmented armor, yet it animates like it's made out of cotton. Suggestion? I'd "tighten up" the skirt by a small amount to help reduce clipping with swords, as well as replace the animation with something that feels more like hanging segmented armor and less like cloth.
3. Lack of Helmet Animation: This is probably the most significant issue with the armor set (along with all subsequent variants). The helmet is locked, meaning that when you run the helmet sways side to side. When you fight, your character is always faced completely away from the enemy your fighting. When you're riding a chocobo, your character just stairs at the ground. When talking to npcs, your character head does not turn to face the npc.
Suggestion? First, lower the height of the "Collar" by like 25%, this is to help reduce the chance of clipping with an animated helmet/head. Second, remodel the helmet so that it's not physically locked to the chest piece. Third, Animate the helmet so that the character faces enemies, npcs, ect ect. Fourth, allow for the /visor command to work. The lack of facial animations when wearing this armor is rather disappointing.
4. Shoulders and helms on Later variations of the armor look dumb... Suggestions? Review all of the tower shoulders and silly blade helms and find something that fits the game a bit more... This is not WoW after all, we don't need huge cheesy shoulders and helmets.
5. Chest is a bit too "deep". Suggestions? I'd reduce the depth of the deflecting chest plate by a small amount, maybe 15%? I'd also suggest tightening up the sides of the torso by a very small amount as well to reduce clipping with the arms.
Overall I feel that the graphical quality of this set is sub par compared to most of the other 3d art in the game... These suggestions would most certainly improve it.
