Unable to use Free Cure (or II) if your remaining MP is less than cost of the Cure II

Unable to use Freecure (or Overcure) if your remaining MP is less than cost of the Cure II (or Cure III)

    ISP:
    N.A.

    Type of Internet Connection:
    N.A.

    Internet Connection Speed:
    N.A.

    Date & Time:
    Any time

    Frequency:
    Always

    Character Name:
M'ete'leskum B'leskum (but same with other characters)

    Race:
Hyur F (but same with other characters)

    World:
    Moogle

    Class/Level:
WHM lvl 50 (but was happening with lover levels as well)

    Area and Coordinates:
    Anywhere

    Party or Solo:
    Both

    NPC Name:
    None

    Monster Name:
    None

    In-Game Time:
    Any time

    Steps:
    1. Use Cure (or Cure II) until Freecure (or Overcure) status is reached AND at the same time the remaining MP is less than cost of Cure II (or Cure III)
    2. Try to cast "free" (e.g. zero MP cost) Cure II (or Cure III) while the Free Cure (II) status is still active
    3. Cast will fail as it checks for remaining MP (which is less than cost of the spell) despite it being free / no MP cost

This is fairly annoying bug as at the point where you'd need the Free Cure most (after exhausting most of your MP during the "heat of the battle") you're unable to actually use it.

Considering that the MP is used at the end of the cast, it's also only if freecure/overcure is still up at the end of the cast that it will actually cost 0/half MP.
Otherwise you'd effectively prolong the freecure/overcure time if it counts from the beginning of the cast, or they'd have to cancel the spells midcast if you don't have enough MP and freecure/overcure timer runs out before cast is finished.

Hi Nekodar - thanks for pointing that out, I've not realized / noticed that. I'm not really sure if that's the case (the MP evaluation / deduction at the end of the cast rather than at the start as with other normal actions) however if it is like that then simple fix would be to decrease the "buff" time by the cast time and evaluate the whole thing at start of the cast rather than at the end. I'll try to watch it a bit closely tonight (or test it in some less "critical" situation than high level dungeons) to see where / how exactly it evaluates & deduct. And - even if they'd cancel the cast halfway through - it's in efect the same as being unable to cast it at all (not like you can cast anything else much usefull with depleeted MP anyway) - I'd still rather have that on top of the possibility of casting Freecure / Overcure with close to zero MP. They can also "fix" it by evaluating the remaining time at the start of the cast and refuse to do it "for free" of not enough time and MP is left. Either way - at least 3 possible fixes / improvements are easilly available here.
