Whatever you do, don't elude to it being Sqenix's fault.
And don't you dare complain when you have to pay for a VPN sub to play this MMO when you'll never have to do it for any other.
Oh and zoom your camera out.![]()

VPNs only "directs" your connection better, SE doesn't run your ISP or control how they do their hops - so if a VPN fixes your issue, that means you need to talk with your ISP to see what's going on inbetween you/them and SE's datacenter.
Fyi, while being sarcastic you forget to mention that lots of people actually have to use VPNs to access certain online games due to region lockouts.![]()

seems that there are some DNS servers SUCK...
In canada here, we have some of the worst internet in the world D:
Hi,
Just want to add to this,
I did instances on sunday and everything was fine.
On tuesday onwards i been getting lag spikes in every instances; I can no longer do any dodge mechanics
I am also from the UK and using Sky.
I'm also from the UK using Sky internet, I was having problems especially on Tuesday, Titan was unplayable.
SOLUTION: unfortunately was to use Pingzapper, this sorted the problem for me right away, was perfect after. You can try it for free for one hour at a time before it disconnects you, it is only something like £3 a month without contract but it is defiantly worth it as this problem seems similar to the FiOS routing problems the Americans are having, my FC friend using FiOS also downloaded and started to use Pingzapper and it sorted his problems out too.
I think we found the problem...
/goofytrollmode off
The problem isn't SE, it's mainly Level3, and possibly few other isp backbones.

BT and Sky both use the same lines and are having problems at the minute and have been since Monday. Hang tight.

They should package this game with a year long subscription to battleping.
Yesterday, in titan, I was worried because I hit a lag spike right before we started. All of the protect buffs spawned at once instead of staggered and I got like 8 seconds of scrolling chat all at once. But... after that the fight was fine.
Like mentioned earlier, verizon fios users in the states have experienced widespread lag and rubberbanding since the hotfix to update 2.1. Bummer :x

SE's aware. These threads have been popping up too much for it to be everyone's ISP. I keep hearing FIOS is having issues in the U.S., but I'm on AT&T in the Southeastern US and before December 23rd I was fine. Now it spikes like crazy. However, WTFAST is fixing it. The lag spikes it prevents are just plain embarrassing for any major MMO game. I hope they fix whatever maple syrup fiber line they have going on up in Canada.
No way am I going to pay a third party to sort this out.
That shouldn't be necessary.
